SI and Other Joint Pain

I've had severe SI joint pain this week. Peaking at a 7.5-8 on the pain scale. My PT put it back into place a few weeks ago, but it has hurt increasingly since then. My other joints hurt too. Right knee and ankle contributed to the 7.5-8 pain the other night. What do I do to help? It's constant pain. I've lived off of NSAIDS this week and don't really want to continue to rely on them. I've got some teasel root too that's supposed to help with bone pain. Am I missing anything? I've tried sauna a little bit too. Sometimes heat works. Sometimes ice works. But today nothing has worked. Help!

Sorry you're suffering with this MA10.

I haven't had the SI pain, but I did have tailbone pain for over a year....and it resolved on it's own with treatment. For me it was bartonella treatment that resolved it.

I hope you get relief soon.

I have SI joint pain on/off and it sometimes also activates my whole hip area sometimes, usually sticking to one whole side of the body...

Girlie, we're targeting the Bartonella now with zmax and rifampin. Do you think the increased pain could be herx symptoms?

Tickonboard, I take a supplement with that in it, but I don't know if I take a high enough dose of it. I'll look into it. Thanks!

YES, me too!!! Man it was bad for a few weeks!

The doc said it was inflammation from too much die-off. I was taking amox, Alinia, and herbal abx. After ceasing the amox=pain gone.

For us Lymies who are using multiple abx protocol, when pain flares it means back off on 1 of the abx!

I relied on ibuprofen also. I also use a rub called pharmax which works wonders, but its very difficult to find it;even online.

The stretches for the piriformis help immensely!!!

FYI my LLMD reminded me today to load up on glutathione if hurting. He gives me this kind in a tube I have to refrigerate.

mcspike, I just came off of a 3-4 day break from all antibiotics. But it was during that break that I had the severe pain attack. It could have been that the zithro was still in my system. But it was no joke. Now it's a constant 5 or 6. I'll have to look into those stretches. My PT had been stretching it for me, but he discharged me today (still in pain) to figure out how to do them on my own.

Kat1000, I had a glutathione IV the other day and responded badly. I wonder if this kind would be better for me. Do you know if you have to have a prescription?

SI joint pain can be very mysteriously complicated, as all of the core, femur, hip and glute (but) muscles and lower back muscle can pull on this sensitive area. Many times, any issues with those areas will show up as pain in the SI.

Its all connected, and the weakest areas are where the end of the line pain shows up. Massaging all those other areas will often help the SI pain go down, as its less tense then.
