I'm on really good probiotics recommend by my LLD, but I was wondering if there is anything else I can do for my stomach/gut. I've always had problems with it because I also have IBSD, but lately it's been a little more upset. I know its because I've been on abx for months now (they are working though!)
I've heard about
apple cider vinegar - does that have potential to make me herx?
I wish I had found this forum a few months ago, I've been reading through it all day today and a lot of last night. There is a lot of really good information that I didn't know about
.
Thanks, Anna

Hi Anna,
We've had great luck with bone broth, sauerkraut and whole milk (raw) plain yogurt. Watch out for the sauerkraut and start slow. I had a bad herx on that.
ACV did give me a herx so I had to start at a teaspoon a day
So happy you're here!

I've read a lot of good things about
bone broth, I'm going to have to check that one out for sure.
Thank you so much!!!

One of the issues I have with too many probiotics - including the ones recommended my lldo - is that they were not packaged to protect against digestion. My preferred probiotic utilizes an enteric capsule that makes sure that the cfu's actually get to the bowel. Fermented foods will have the bacteria absorbed into the cell of the food itself so that the fiber can carry it far enough into the system to actually have some effect.

I love bone broth. I get Pacific brand, organic and turkey is my favorite. I get mine from Viatcost, $5.79 for 32 ounces. I can't make it for less than that price at all.
Fermented foods are awesome. I am going to make fermented carrots. Warm water, salt and carrots. Any seasoning you want. Same with sauerkraut.
I was fortunate that my mom introduced me to sour foods as a youngin. I love pickles, sauerkraut, sour tasting yogurt, kefir, kimchi, and kombucha and etc.
Cruise the refrigerated aisle of your health food store and see what they have. Most will be refrigerated, but I did find some fermented beets at whole foods that were just on the shelf.

I use Imagine chicken bone broth because there are no onions, garlic, etc. You can add your own spices. I think it's about
$3.99 for 32 oz. You also use collagen. I use Vital Proteins.

Krimpet, is it only the non-organic that does not have the onions, garlic, etc? Does the organic have no spices also?
That is an awesome price, and I love the fact of no spices.

PeteZa unfortunately it's only the non-organic that doesn't have the seasonings. I'm actually going to follow up with the company as to why this is.

Caramba, I saw kimchi being made on The Amazing Race. My Korean friend makes it all the time. I wish she lived closer for me to get hers. LOL!
Krimpet, let me know what the company says about
the spices. Thanks.
