I had a lovely note from someone on the boards re: my brain aneurysm repair in that a friend with lyme was diagnosed with one. First, I think there is likely a correlation between brain aneurysms and lyme and found some research which supports this notion, and I suspect the correlation bartonella in that it attacks the vascular system.
Depending on your symptoms they will either watch it or repair it. Based on my symptoms they chose to repair it.
The first part of the procedure was getting good imagery which they did by going up the left femoral artery. Based on what the imagery shows they then choose how to repair it. They sent me home with the direction for my spouse to do EVERYTHING and to not even think about dancing. I went back three days later and they went up the other artery to repair it putting some platinum coils in. I was in the ER for a night, then moved for recovery for two more days. They watch you very closely. After the repair they ask you to come back 6 months later for another viewing to see how the repair is holding up. The brain aneurysm repair in my case held up, but, there was an abnormality in the artery they first tried to go up. I had a follow up with a vascular surgeon and he told me there was now a u shaped in my artery and this was most likely caused the brain aneurysm repair. I opted to leave it be and not have it fixed.
