Pulse Antibiotics - Any Success ?

GSE is Grapefruit Seed Extract. A natural cyst buster.

There was some controversey over contamination of the GSE...don't know where that is at now.

I used it for awhile.

Someone who purchased the June 2015 research paper on pulsing antibiotics for lyme disease read the paper and said that the antibiotics were given for 5 days followed by 3 days off.

I started treatment 3 months ago to hit Lyme/Babesia simultaneously. Daily doses of zithro/mepron/artimisaie/fish oil/cefdinir. I made progress for 8 weeks than started relapsing. Doctor is switching me to a biofilm protocol which also includes one round of Coartem for 4 days then pulsing Tindamax/Cefdinir M,W,F for a month.

He feels the pulsing is a more aggressive treatment as the environment is not always toxic for the bugs. The biofilms get busted, the cysts also get busted via the tindamax and the coartem/tindamax/cefdinir can all be effective against Lyme and Babesia. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

DS has been pulsing since late Dec/early Jan of 2016 for Lyme, myco, babs and bart - usually trying to hit 2-3 of them at a time, I believe. The first 6 months were hard and he was sick a lot. He improved greatly during the summer when he was in the sun every day. Now that he's back in school we are back to him being sick weekly but he is an active teen, exercising - probably too much - and while he misses 1 day of school and 2 evenings for homework overall he seems improved from last spring. His LLNP told us it would be a minimum of 18 months of treatment to start. While it was incredibly discouraging for him to relapse some this fall we are moving ahead with hope.

Yup northeastern did a study on the efficacy of this recently

I pulsed low dose minocycline and tinidozole from Feb - Aug. Worked very well so far.

So your infection is still an early one - just one month?
You are fortunate to catch it before it progresses to a chronic infection.

I recommend you see a LLMD for treatment. Treating early on = high chance of success.
Don’t undertreat - and treat until all symptoms are gone plus a few more weeks.

Personally for an acute infection I wouldn’t pulse.

Are you detoxing throughout your treatment?

And make sure you’re taking probiotics -

I'm not stopping tx. I'm resuming in less than 48 hrs. Remember, even though the abx kills the Lyme bacteria in its spirochetes form, the Lyme at the same time is mounting a survival defense by forming cysts which are impenetrable. The recommended course of tx varies between doctors for acute Lyme . 10 days to 21 days. Tonight I begin the second wave at 200mg twice daily for 12 more days. That will be a total of 24 days on doxy. The 48 hr break (pulse) couldn't possibly give the Lyme enough time to replicate after its just been hammered for 12 straight days.

10-21 days for acute lyme is the CDC guidelines. You do not want to follow cdc advice.

Retired LLMD dr Burrascano who wrote the lyme treatment guidelines several years ago says treat until symptom free plus an additional 4 weeks.
