Clinic for Lyme Treatment in London UK

Not sure what the cultural content of this website is and so may not be of interest but I thought I'd let people know there is a clinic that can deliver IV antibiotic infusions for Lyme Disease in central London, UK.

I have been a patient with an LLMD in Belgium for approx 18 months after suffering with what I thought was ME for 7 years. I was finally diagnosed with Lyme last year and went to live there so I could be treated with IV antibiotics for 3 months at a clinic in Brussels. This is because access to IV in the UK is extremely limited and where it is available it is extortionately priced. However, whilst I was over there, I discovered a clinic in central London that didn't charge the earth and so I came home mid-way through.

I am trying to spread the word so that patients in the UK, or indeed Europe, are aware there is another option. I received excellent care there and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs IV infusions for Lyme this side of the pond.

Yabeeb, thanks so much for that great information, never heard of that one. I live in the UK and have an appointment with LLMD in couple of weeks. I live in London but am travelling to the North East to see this Doctor, it is good to know as there is very little medical help for lyme in UK.

That's great to hear that there are more options available in the UK, jeez you know that we need them!!

Yabeeb - is the London Clinic able to prescribe, or do you need a prescription from another doctor to be treated there? Thank you!

Hi Celeste15. Yes I think they are able to if you have been tested and they can definitely arrange testing.

Hi Celeste. I went to the same clinic as Yabeeb to have my IV infusions for lyme. It was a great place. It's my understanding that the clinic are developing a real interest in lyme. They have a team of research scientists they work with. If you test positive for lyme they can refer you to their research team who will evaluate your case can put you in touch with prescribing docs if necessary. For more complete info I'd give them a bell. PM for the name of the best person to talk to if that would be useful.

Hi guys,

I'm just starting my Lyme journey (to hell) and am just wondering if any of you are still here / attending the Independent Health Clinic and/or found anywhere else / better in or around London?

I'm going to e-mail them now (initially only regarding testing) but from the website it looks like they test via / accept results from Armin Labs(?)

I didn't attend, I am taking the Buhner herbs for Lyme and Bart here in the UK and doing well on that protocol. Let us know how you get on and if you need any help sourcing herbs or anything else. I am near London and guess you are too ?

Gosh, they are actually really cheap, only £90 per Iv... I might go, it would be interesting to see if i get the same effect from when i had iv years ago. Only thing I'm not sure which antibiotic i was given..

Guess my Dr would have my notes

Traveler - the 2 places usually recommended for herbs are Napiers in Edinburgh and Bristol Botanicals.

I emailed Hawaii Pharm and asked them where they ship to - this is their reply:

"We ship worldwide except for a few countries like: North Korea, Afghanistan, Morocco, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Cuba, Syria, Uganda, Nigeria."

I didn't hear back from the Independent Health Clinic but London Clinic of Nutrition called immediately and told me that my symptoms sounded EXACTLY like Lyme and that I should speak to my GP about an immediate course of antibiotics. (I delivered a large envelope of highlighted Lyme symptoms to my GP last night and will hopefully receive a call back this morning.)

Suzee, yes, I'm in South London. I'm going to private message you now if that's okay!

bamptonbred - please be aware that it's £90 only for the ADMINISTERING of an IV - you need to supply and bring your own medication!

The London Clinic of Nutrition is also incredibly expensive: £250 for an initial consultation, £400 for (3) Armin Tests, £185 for a results consultation and £125 for any other appointments thereafter. This of course does NOT include the price of any meds / treatments thereafter.

I'm sorry to bring the tone down but at this point - primarily due to my continued and rapid deterioration with no medical professionals taking me seriously enough - really feel that I should have just quietly died in Japan somewhere. What did any of us do to deserve this? Seriously?

It's brutal....I have been at it for almost 3 years now...and I still sometimes feel like "is this really happening?"

Hang in there TokyoPVCs - fight for your health. Come on here when you need support.

And, TokyoPCV - I had to agree with Girlie. Hang in there, come here to vent and ask questions and share your concerns. We do understand! Fight for your health, and your right for access to treatments. There's been a couple of times I've nearly given up, but I'm so glad I didn't.

And, Missy_j - I'm not Suzee, obviously, but she mentioned Bristol Bontanicals to me, as Celeste did above.

It's so weird: I keep writing these posts in the morning when I have *some* control of my thoughts but by night time I come back and have no recollection at all. ("Who wrote this? It sounds like something I'd say.")

Quick update: my GP allowed me to submit a blood test for Lyme on the NHS yesterday. Not holding my breath for anything but I'm happy he at least read the documents I sent him and, too, thought it was worth looking into.

In the meantime, if anyone else hears / knows of anywhere I can seek help in London I'll be here. Kinda. Thank you all. <3
