My LLMD rotates my antibiotic every 2 months. So now I'm on Doxycycline 100mg 2x/day. Aside from the issue of the low dose, my greatest concern is decreased absorption because of minerals. There are warnings on the packaging.
Also, University of Michigan states:
Many minerals can decrease the absorption and reduce effectiveness of doxycycline, including calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and others. To avoid these interactions, doxycycline should be taken two hours before or two hours after dairy products (high in calcium) and mineral-containing antacids or supplements.

I take a magnesium supplement and a zinc supplement along with calcium in almond milk. For max doxy effect, have you stopped using such supplements? I read on other threads that I could double up the doxy, spike it, by taking both tablets at once. I could take doxy with dinner and restrict supplements/vitamins/almond milk to breakfast and lunch. Wondering how others have handled this issue.
Thanks, Aylett
