Hey everyone I'm new to this site. I've just been diagnosed with Lyme disease and antibiotics aren't working. I live in Arkansas and there are no Lyme literate doctors in this state that I am able to find. Does anyone have any recommendations for a Lyme literate doctor somewhere near or around the state of Arkansas? Greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hello an so welcome. When u say you just got diagnosed, how long have you been on antibiotics? Most people are in meds for at least 6-12 months before they feel any type of improvement. But you've come to the right place. The people on here are wonderful and will provide you with great information!! Be patient, someone will come along soon to help you.

I was diagnosed about
6 weeks ago but they think I have had it since 2010. I am scared of where this disease can take me. I have been doing a lot of research online and know that my struggle is going to be even harder because of where I live.

Hi Chajrun! Welcome to the community! I'm glad you found us.
I also live in Arkansas and can confirm that there are no LLMD's in the state. You will have to travel to Missouri or Tennessee for a LLMD - or you can do an herbal approach. There are several herbal protocols that have worked for others that you can use. If you wish to see who and where the LLMD's are located, please do send me an email.
If you are on Facebook, there is one group that I would recommend, called Arkansas Lyme Support. If you wish to email me, I can send you a direct link to the group.
By the way, FWIW, Arkansas has the initials of AR. AK is Alaska (LOL!). I know many of us deal with a certain amount of brain fog though, so please do not take this as anything other than a reminder for those that may need it.
And, thank you to those that emailed me to be sure I saw this! I"m trying to get ready for hubby's surgery and spending nights away from home - so lots of packing and things to get ready!
