Homogenous mthfr?

Is anyone homogenous mthfr with the double mutation? My llmd says I have to take 15mg methylfolate but someone else told me that's too much. I'm only on four mg lol

I only take what's in my Swanson b complex which is 400 mcg

15 mg sounds like a lot

So you are homo for both c677 and a1298? My kids are hetero for both I just give them smarty pants gummy vitamins (methyl b) and avoid folic acid. I want to consult with someone in regards to the big picture. So very complicated!

I have both 677 and 1298. I take 15 mg methylfolate daily and methyl b shots three times a week.

Told to avoid folic acid as well.

Its in eery things thats fortified....milks cereal etc .methyl folate works or lots of leafy greens...u may do well in b12 shots....btw bee pollen has every b vitamin except b12....

k07, thanks for sharing that about the smarty pants gummies. I used to give those to my son, but stopped when I realized we had MTHFR issues and the gummies had folic acid. I'm glad to see they changed their formula! I've been giving my son Thorne Basic Nutrients for children, and I'm glad to have another option.

Your welcome! I was so happy when they changed their formula. I also did Thorne for kids but they love the gummies!
