Horrible psych herxing??

Hi guys. So a few weeks ago I started taking alchornea. Before then I was feeling much better. Less anxious, less depressed, I was even able to exercise and run again! But ever since I took the alchornea I haven't been the same. I feel suicidal and panicky every day and extremely fatigued. I don't know if it's lyme getting worse or a herx. I'm confused cause I stopped the alchornea a week ago but I still feel psych fragile. But I think it's a herx cause the only thing that makes it better is burbur. But I'm so confused, why am I still herxing a week later if I stopped it? How will I get better if I herx on everything so much? The same thing happened to me when I took houttuynia and rifampin 😭 I feel like I lost all my progress and I'm scared I'll have to go to the psych hospital or go crazy or never get better

If you need to take an Ativan now and then for relief...just don't take it daily.
Can you take just a half of the lowest dose?

I know Dr.'s who will prescribe an antidepressant that works on anxiety - instead of ativan - if you're having that much anxiety and on a daily basis.
If you take ativan daily...you will end up needing more...and more often...you will become dependent on it. if it's daily, an antidepressant may be a better option (even if you're not depressed)

As much as I don't like Psych meds - I know that sometimes we do need a little help.

I'm assuming you have tried all the herbal/natural anxiety remedies?

alchornea is very powerful, the effects of some bad herxes will be felt for a few weeks, i u kick some bacteria really hard it will also erect your immune system because of the debris left by the dead.

in case u have doubts how strong this alchornea is, it heals mice with systemic staph infections, IN VIVO

the more resistant these superbugs get the more u will hear about these herbs. there is massive potential here to heal people.

when u get better u need to try sida with houttuynia, alchornea and isatis, all at same time but start with very low doses and increase very slowly. i used CSA with houttuyna and got some really bad brain herxes at some point i thought i have meningoencefalitis and wanted to get hospitalized...but it passed within a week.

it is clear u have some bart related organism that u r kicking, these are very hard to get rid of and become resistant, u should not use one single herb on them.

i know this sounds nuts, using 3 herbs but i think u have used too high dose too soon.

I notice it comes in waves then I'll feel fine for several hours hours then it'll come again, a mix of depression emotional anguish and depression. But why is it still here if I've been detoxing for a week :/.

Yes but tomorrow when I wake up it's like my body starts herxing all over again. It happened the same each way with houttuynia and rifampin. It took weeks for the herx to finally stop. But I don't know now why he. It didn't happen with the Japanese knotweed an red sage though cause I was extremely slow with them. I did it drop by drop. This time I went too fast, was skipping doses. This is the same exact way I herxed on the houtt and rifampin. Legit same exact symptoms even going to the bathroom constantly 😭 I just want to know why and how to make it stop sooner

Yes I usually take it a few hours after waking up. I guess I'm just a really bad herxer. I don't know why why i get so crazy whenever I kill Bart my brain gets lit on fire 😭

I'm so glad you're feeling a little better.

My neuro-psycho herxing is BY FAR the worst of all of my suffering. After starting each of my abx, I spent the next week cycling from one extreme emotion to the nex hour after hour, 24 hrs a day. It was horrible and hard to explain. The 2nd week was slightly better and I was able to sleep a few hrs. The 3rd wk better and by the 4th week the cycles were less intense, more intermittent. That's when I finally knew I was not going to die, kill myself or someone else. It was scary.

I'd chose the pain and discomfort in every area of my body over feeling crazy and out of control. People have no idea unless they've experienced it.

I like the other suggestions already - time, brain detox. But you might also try GI binders. They have probably made the biggest impact for me but I have always had GI problems which can cause problems in the head due to the gut-brain connection that's been proved by the evidence of blood vessels that connect the two.

Other forms of detoxing might also be helpful.

So me and my herbalist Julie McIntyre figured out a HUGE piece of the puzzle. So we noticed that the only thing that stopped my panic attacks are eating, pooping (lol sorry), and GI activated charcoal. So she says that this means that either my serotonin is plunging in my stomach or that there's an accumulation of endotoxins in there 😭. going to the bathroom literally helps my anxiety so much it's insane 😭. But it makes sense you guys because before I started treatment I had therapy for panic disorder and all my issues were around food. Like I would have panic attacks when I was hungry and naseous so my therapist thought I had food phobias. But now I know why 😭 Also 90% of my symptoms are in my stomach or psychiatric. Also this week I was bad I ate thirteen Reese in one night 😭 And two cupcakes every day I didn't know this would happen.

Hi JennyDancingFish, I wanted to say a few things. I hear you about your neuropsych probs and I'm sad you are going through this. I've had my share of these types of symptoms.

One, I'm envious that you have someone understanding enough to give you an emergency benzo. Think of that benzo as the emergency glass, when you feel you are really losing it, panicking, break it and take it, then no worries for a short while anyway. Also, a more natural route any type of magnesium can really calm things down by, it has a direct effect on calming nerve function. And surprisingly a Probiotic can work magnificently to calm anxiety, nausea, or a panic attack. In fact I find magnesium and probiotic a better natural route than SSRIs. I'm having to make do with epsom towel baths, lavender, taurine, magnolia bark and L-theanine. I take melatonin at night but with my severe apnea lucky to get 3-4 hours of sleep.

The other thing is you are getting into some advanced herb treatments that sound powerful Alchornea, Houttinya (sp?) (like Samento and Banderol Cats Claw/Otoba root are superpowerful as well). I've heard that these are powerful. My first thought is that these herbals must be respected as strong as prescriptions, they can inhibit key enzymes, magnify, contraindicate and also be especially super bactericidal (IANAD I'm guessing). But that's the weird thing I'm wary of is contraindication can really increase the potency, blood serum levels of certain drugs (or bactericidal debris, could be both!) Which is why I'm concerned about how much Venlafaxine you're taking, especially with your symptoms which sometimes can be caused by it (in combo with your herbal die off). again.. IANAD though.

But..It sounds like you unlocked another key part of the puzzle by using binders for your GI problems. Probably some horrific toxic bug debris buildup there. Yes you literally have to flush it out, preferably with a chelating bile sequestrant (cholestyramine is easy to get prescribed for detox).

And good that you've found binders (charcoal, cholestyramine is good also) for extra relief. I've been neglecting to use my jars of cholestyramine powder, reminds me thx!

And about Venlafaxine. Brand name Effexor, I was recently prescribed it and I took one, one day. That's it. I still have the whole bottle left, I only took 37.5mg. I didn't like it. It was powerful enough that I felt the effects for days from just that one low dose. Remember what you said you read about SSRIs in that book, that they don't help with this (Lyme n related Co)? should be avoided as should be steroids. Well Venlafaxine withdrawal is notoriously difficult to withdraw and taper from. I can't stand the sidefx. Numbs my emotions, kidney pain also, sweating, insomnia, alternating with sleepy spells.

One more thing about Venlafaxine(Effexor) and why I don't care for it: I know some go on it an never get off, they up the dose to about what you're taking, sometimes 150mg plus more . It is a serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. And this is something I learned from a primary doc internalist, that these receptors are all up and down the axis of the body, in your intestinal nerve walls not just your brain in your head, etc, it literally could be disrupting much of the nerve synapses in your body tricking them into building up serotonin and noriepinephrine, this way not just your "brain" minding the brain/gut connection...why you get nausea, and panic attacks, anxiety. But this is just my doubts about Venlafaxine, and some of my personal experience.
