I feel that low carb / zero carb diet contributes hugely for the bugs die off. Probably because pathogens do not have enough glucose to build lipopolysaccharides.
But you should watch for several things:
1) make it very low in fiber to avoid gut issues with abx and gram negative gut microbiome rapid repopulation
2) watch out for heavy acidosis(measurable by urine ph meter) - you can fall into it pretty quickly under low carb diet coupled with antibiotics.
3) VERY IMPORTANT: never overdoo with proteins(common mistake) - excessive proteins will raise your blood glucose levels even more than carbs and put extra stress on kidneys. But watch for WBC counts and if they drop too low proteins intake should be gradually increased.
4) eat a couple of fruits first thing at the morning to refill liver glycogen stores with fructose.
End your day with a fruit too to prevent evening acidosis from fats. Between eat only proteins and fats.
5) go heavy on fats, especially coconut oil(monolaurin) and ghee(also some monolaurin)
6) eat in 8h refeed window - this will boost autophagy(xenophagy)
7) try to fast 1..3 days every 2..4 weeks for immune system reboot - google for Valter Longo research
But watch your WBC counts after the fast and compensate with extra proteins accordingly.
Let me know if you have any questions - i have years in exp with zero/low carbing and it contibuted greatly into my state of current health.
