I've been using cistus incanus and it's been doing wonderful things for me. It may be because my GI is the most messed up still, but it's also one of those really great herbs that is antibacterial, antiviral, and a host of other possible benefits. There are many good articles online that cover it's benefits.
My problem was that I started using it slowly, as directed though! LOL! It was/is quite powerful for me, so the 1 tsp of tea to 1 cup of water (steeped 10 minutes), even once a day can become too much, particularly when I'm just starting it.
What I had to do to start it was start off with 1/2 tsp herb to 1 cup of water - after 1 week I realized that was too much as well, so I lowered my dose down to 1/4 tsp to 1 cup of water and I'm doing pretty well with it now. I do still take a break for a day when my innerds are in an uproar though. That's not doing any good at that point, only upsetting my system at that point - but they (my innerds) are functioning much better at this point than they have in a long time.
This may be due to having a lot of biofilms in my intestines - I mean, I've been sick for over 45 years, so it would kind of make sense.
One doctor believes it works as a tick repellent when drank daily as well:
www.fransussman.com/cistus-tea-or-how-to-become-repulsive-to-ticks/ The instructions are to use the same tsp of herb 3 times, as each brewing pulls out different constituents of the herb - so far, that third brewing is just too much for me though, so at this point, I'm only brewing each dose twice.
