I've been taking low dose naltrexone for the past 4 months.
LDN saved me from constantly waking up with a migraine. In my case, it's a miracle drug. I've run out a few times and the migraines return within a few days, so it's certainly not a cure, but they vanish as soon as I'm back on it.
I doubt I could handle minocycline without it. I may feel the pressure in my head rise a bit, which used to be the sign of an oncoming migraine, but it's tolerable and then wears off on its own.
The miracles end there, but I'll take what I can get! There are about
a dozen other things wrong with me that LDN has been known to improve, and I can't make any wild claims about
any of those. Look at the size of this list:
/www.ldnresearchtrust.org/conditionsThe first time I ever tried LDN, I took 3mg. I normally do not remember dreams at all. That night, I had an extremely goofy dream, which I thought was real until I woke up, and I still remember it clear as day.
The so-called "vivid dreams" side effect is an understatement.
For the first few weeks, I took it right before bed, and kept waking up at night. I've been taking it in the evening ever since and do not have sleep issues. The additional endorphins that LDN causes you to produce remain for something like 18 hours, so it isn't really necessary to take it so late, anyways. Some people even take it in the morning.
LDN can be so effective for inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's and ulcerative colitis, they may go into remission. I tested positive for and treated digestive infections in the past, and just before I started LDN, I re-tested, and there is no trace of them. However, I still feel pretty gross when I eat all sorts of things, and LDN hasn't changed that.
I also have Hashimoto's, another thing LDN can be very effective against. You have to watch it like a hawk if you're on thyroid hormones, as it can quickly heal and flip from hypothyroid to hyperthyroid territory. However, I do not take hormones, so I'm waiting until my next checkup, and will report back later.
