Testing for Lyme

I doubt if you'd get more details from the lab - it should all be on the report.

Maybe it wasn't a WB - just an Elisa or IFA - which wouldn't show bands.
It could be a lab that does a screen first with Elisa/IFA and if negative doesn't proceed to the WB test.

People are getting good results with the DNA Connexions testing. But, not all LLMD's accept this test..


The Igenex Lyme WB is $210 for both IgM and IgG.

The co-infections at Igenex - will cost extra for each of them. - more than the DNA Connexions.

Depends on the LL Dr.
Also depends on how much $$ you want to spend.
If I had the cash I would test for the co's...but I don't have spare cash since I haven't worked for 4 years now.

Mine doesn't test for the co's. He starts off with lyme treatment...and then clinically diagnoses the co's.

Other LLMD's do some testing of the co's to see what shows up.

Then there are other LLMD"s who will treat the three B's - Borrelia, Bartonella, Babesia and not bother testing for co's.


I did end up doing an inexpensive test for Babesia and Bartonella - and I did get a positive for Bartonella.
But it was only $125 per infection.
I did this after a year of treating bartonella...and wanted to see what it would show.

You could start with the Lyme WB IgM and IgG $210 and then see what your treating Lyme MD wants you to do regarding the co's.

I wouldn't get the Lyme Panel. Just the WB IgM and IgG for total of $210.


It will only show lyme...not the co-infections.

Yes, you could get a negative lyme test and it will not show co-infections.
A postive lyme test won't show co-infections either.

Yes, bartonella can be transmitted by vectors other than ticks like fleas and cats. Babesia I'm not sure about...
