Hi Alfredo and welcome to our forum,
Glad you have found us and its good to hear you have had improvement in fighting these infections.
We can help you find an llmd here, you need to enable your email in your profile and the members will be able to send you suggestions. We don't usually post llmd's names(except for the famous well known) due to privacy and protecting them.
You can also go to ilads.org and look for physician referral to request llmd's for the Boston area.
We do encourage new members to go to read our "New to Lyme" start here thread at the top of the page. It has much information that is helpful.
Other members should be along soon to chime in.
Take care and I wish you the best of continued healing and best of luck on your new position in Boston if you accept it, Jo

Google Lyme Dr in Watertown MA.
Dr H does IV and has a good reputation. I would stay away from the big name Boston hospitals full of ID specialist who don't recognize chronic Lyme and only follow IDSA guidelines.

Unfortunately I do not know her rates. Her web site does say she does not take insurance and needs to be considered "out of network".

Just be aware that many of the LLMDs here in the US do not take insurance. You can however take to receipts from seeing your Dr here and send them into your insurance. Sometimes they will reimburse you for some of it since it is "out of network". For those doctors you won't get the full amount back but some. I have heard that there are a few LLMDs here who do work with insurance. I unfortunatey do not know of any in the Boston area but I would follow up on the LLMD mentioned in the earlier replies.

Boston loves to talk up how cutting edge their medical facilities are, but you'll probably be disappointed as they are extremely politically influenced and do not acknowledge lyme because they abide by the CDC. Really, doctors and hospitals are very much in the dark ages all over the world. We really do not have a very good understanding of the human body and how it works. I've lived in the Boston area my entire life and the doctors here are quite close-minded.... especially when it comes to Lyme disease. If you tell a doctor here that you are suffering from Lyme disease, they will laugh at you and not take anything you say seriously from that point forward. If you want to address Lyme in the Boston area you need to see an LLMD and they are shunned in the medical community.

I have to agree with gfields. Having experienced this as I live I Massachusetts and had no success in getting just Doxy for over a year and a half from regular Md, top hospitals or specialists.
All this with two known tick bites and a high exposure to tick infested areas at home and in my previous work.
They just kept saying you test negative its not Lyme. No doxy. Its just a pinched nerve or MS causing disabling neuro symptoms. ABX are bad for you we don't want to give it unless you had a bulls-eye or cdc positive.
Unbelievable in this day and age. Sorry I guess I am still a bit bitter.
The good news is this forum and its members helped me when I needed it most. I am so thankful for all of you.
