PLEASE HELP! I need advice for SEVERE anxiety and shaking and depression for lyme. already take an antidepressant. Can I use a supplement along with it. I can't see a LLMD till March. Being treated with Natural Avenue Laboritories Paranix-KlenzTea-Internal Sweep and Rife. Lyme is supposedly killed but have co infections

Wow. I am sorry you are going through this. You may need to give your post a subject. I have not had anxiety with my symptoms, but I know others have.

Hi pjb - welcome to our community!

I'm so sorry you're having the anxiety and depression. It sounds like the antidepressant isn't working.
Have you discussed this with the prescribing Dr.?

How long did you treat the Lyme before it was 'killed'?

You can't get in to a LLMD for 7 months? wow - that's a long time to have to wait. Maybe we could help you find one with a sooner appointment?

In the meantime - I suggest you get a good detoxing regimen in order.
You need to flush out those toxins that are accumulating.

Looking for LLMD in PA. Cant see a LLMD till March who is in Hermitage Pa. Hoping to find 1 who is closer and accepts my insurance because I have no income at this time

Hey, my extreme anxiety is/WAS caused by being toxic. Toxic by waaaay too much dead germs that my body is recycling. This toxicity causes a cytokine firestorm aka inflammation that which attacks your hypothalamas in the brain. The anxiety is result of the hypothalmas not producing enough of a MASTER hormone that then controls almost EVERY other body systems...


You need to detox, detox, detox. Activated charcoal w/chlorella, slippery elm bark, and redmond clay OR call your Dr ask for cholestyramine!!!

In efforts to repair the damaged hypothalamas, I started a product called 'Core' by biopure, and i take vitamin D. The combo has been a huge help for me.

I do now that i checked google maps. You are about the same distance from him as i am. I live in marshall county WV. If you want his contact info let me know. There were 3 in the area. He got me in first. I was literally feeling like i was dying and needed to see a doc who had a clue about lymes. I had been through hell with multiple infectious disease docs. Thry are worthless when it comes to lymes IMO.

The master hormone that the hypothalamas produces is the MSH=melanocyte STIMULATING hormone. You can have your MSH level tested through labcorp. Its THE master hormone--without it> the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals, etc do not receive their 'orders' to function!

Low MSH is the ROOT cause of SO MANY issues including insomnia, depression, poor skin collagen, zero libido, low thyroid production and then OVER active adrenals!!!

My anxiety and depression is a roller coaster with Lyme. Good quality Omega 3 can help. 2-3000 mg/ day of EPA AND DHA; as well as vitamin D and B-complex (all the B's, at least 50mg of each).

There are things that target neurotransmitters (5-htp, St. John's wort, GABA, etc) but those need to be taken with guidance from a doctor or naturopath. Used in conjunction with an antidepressant they can be overload. After weaning off antidepressants, I find trying to go back on them causes major side effects. So it's natural all the way for me now.

My biggest source of anxiety has actually been food sensitivities. I found that when I have dairy or corn (and corn hides in a LOT of stuff) I go out of my mind with rage, impatience, depression, and panic. As soon as they clear my system, I'm a different person.

Cleaning up your diet and keeping a Food & Mood diary can help pinpoint trigger foods. Before Lyme, several docs told me to cut Gluten, Dairy, and Sugar for depression. Turns out that's a dietary rule of Lyme, too.

I still struggle with my limits and choices, but the difference in my thinking between dieting and not is day and night, life and death.

Just saw this, I don't know much about Lyme as I'm not even sure that's what I have yet (was just tested yesterday) ,but as far as anxiety and depression how long ago did you start the antidepressant? Most antidepressants take a while to kick in (I'd say probably 2-6 weeks). Also antidepressants can have the side effect of making things much worse before they get better. It's also possible that the antidepressant you are taking maybe isn't the right one for you.

Also, I would suggest you find a therapist if you don't have one already therapy is more effective than taking an antidepressant alone. It also could be beneficial for you to use an online service to just vent with strangers (such as maybe 7cupsoftea) sometimes just talking to a third party helps! You can also try meditation. It can be difficult to get used to, but can help with both anxiety and depression. Also if available to you I would suggest seeing a psychiatrist for any psychiatric medications (unless that's who you are already seeing). Much of the time antidepressants are "trial and error" but a psychiatrist is more equipped to help you with these issues than a PCP would be (though sometimes it's faster to get access to care through a PCP). Also please be sure to contact your healthcare provider if your depression symptoms worsen. Take care and good luck! Depression can feel permanent in the moment and it can be debilitating ,but it is something that can be overcome!

Can detoxing too much cause herx? Can Burbur Detox interfere with antidepressants?

When i was first diagnosed, i had just returned from backpacking around the world for a year. Lymes caused the physical symptoms but also brought on crippling depression and anxiety and my Bipolar1 went off the scale. I had a fantastic network in the area i lived, which gave me great support but moved to another part of the UK and now, i am left to cope with no support at all. Ihave days when i just cry all day and then slap myself and try and focus on people being worse off than me and try and be mindful.
I think it is a constant battle to cope with the constant challenging physical symptoms and then mentally fight those symptoms too.
I sometimes find it hard not to miss my old life of extreme sports, social life, work life BUT everyday is a bonus that we are all warriors. People do not realise the energy it takes to fight the system, disbelievers and your own body all at the same time.

You may want to try EFT. It can be searched on YouTube. I have seen people get over PTSD using this. I like this technique to overcome anything mental but less so for physical sx.
