Five months after finding a large bullseye rash on my leg while out camping, I have had a biopsy and the results came back today positive for Lyme. (I was given 10 days of Amoxicillan as a precaution when I first went to the doctor back in May 2017. The blood test came back negative at that time, so then the doctor decided to 'wait and see'. The rash never went away so finally a biopsy was ordered last week).
Now I am being put on Amoxclav for 2 weeks (I am allergic to doxy). I live in a very small town in BC Canada and am not confident of the doctor handling this as best as could be. In the last few months, I have a lot of joint pain in my hands and fingers, numb toes and pain in my arms. I also have small patches of the red rash on both legs and the original large bullseye is still there, it goes from bright red to nearly gone and all shades in between from day to day.
For those under the care of a Lyme literate doctor, are there things I should be watching for my doctor to be doing, ordering, etc at this point? Thank you!
