Weird situation need help opinions wanted!

I forgot to add that since this all started it seems like my skin mainly on my arms chest and face has been kinda freaking out.... noticeably more acne rashy type stuff going on.

When you say nothing cross reacts with those bands you mean there's no chance its anything else giving a false positive? like a virus or something of that sort?

do my symptoms sound bizarre for lyme?

I wonder if I had the lyme all along and something else is causing my symptoms...

Your symptoms:
UTI (burning pain), flu like symptoms, aches pains, lost 15 pounds, and started to develop electric twitch like signals.

Those are all common symptoms of lyme disease.

I did not have a UTI, or flu symptoms. But I did lose 14 lbs in a matter of weeks, and had muscle twitches, and other 'electrical' sensations, as well as muscle and joint pain.

Those bands that you tested positive for (23-25 and 34) - are from lyme only. No viruses will turn those positive.

Let me clarify, I don’t think it’s all in your head- you definitely have Lyme causing your issues if the test was positive. I’m saying the mental stress activated it, not caused it!

You really didn't have to share the story about the massage parlor as it's unnecessary. Nothing of great consequence come of the contact of hand a massage oil.

I've seen the story of people getting lyme (but not knowing what it is) and then try and go back in time and link to a bunch of stuff that don't quite add up. BUT getting bit by a vector and not really knowing it is very common.

So people get lyme, not remembering how and then start recalling back different life events to try and make sense of it.

People that get lyme also engage in sexual activities, it doesn't mean that is what caused it. Most people with lyme aren't virgins. Anyone can get lyme and say well 3 days, 3 weeks or 3 months ago I did "X" that must have something to do with.

Odds are no. Odds are you were bit by a vector (lyme is spread from more than just ticks) and you don't recall it. It's the much more simpler and statistically consistent answer.

To add to this, you don't have to be bitten by a tick. Fleas and mosquitoes can transmit it as well. I believe the massage incident was just coincidental.

I did the same thing, and still do to an extent. I remember getting bit and having the rash. But, I try and figure out what it was that dropped my immune system. Another thing I always do is regret going camping when I got bit. I know it's silly, but I always find myself wishing I could go back in time. Anyone else do this?

My LLMD says Lyme infections may be carried for a long time asymptomatic then a stressful situation affects your immune system then Lyme and co take over and start causing symptoms.

The oil was on me for such a short time that whatever is doing this must have been extremely contagious or created to do this kind of damage. The people in that place were scary and it seems like they wouldn't think twice about doing this to someone.

I know early treatment is crucial for success and I'm extremely worried about my GF.... I don't know what to do I'm so lost.

I haven't been able to get the authorities in there because I haven't been able to get proof of a legitimate medical diagnosis.

I know many of you think I'm trying to connect an unrelated event to getting sick. But the truth is there is no denying it happened there. I left there and didn't think anything of it. Its not like it stressed me out until I woke up in excruciating (UTI) pain. And that progressed I got so sick within a few days I thought I was dying. I never recovered since that day and have had a long list of symptoms.

My main two are spine pain and burning (chronic) in the urethra. EVERYDAY. IS it possible BB does this?

There is another guy I was able to contact through a google review of the same place shortly after me and he has the same symptoms as me and they came about the same way, same sketchy person did or tried to do the same thing to him.

So do you think its even the lymes causing my symptoms or do you think I have some sort of unkown STD? And finding my lyme results was just a coincidence?

When we went back to try to get samples of the oil they panicked and spoke in Chinese then one lady ran out with two bottles and locked the door. They were not compliant. And when we spoke to the owner he basically told me to go "F" myself.

10lymeB - I'm a male, and honestly the oil must have touched/entered my urethra slightly for this to happen. I had no external symptoms ever (rash ect).

Please share your thoughts. I'm extremely confused on how to go foreword with this.

Also my girlfriend has started to complain that her back hurts and I'm extremely worried about what to do and say to her. Could this be related? PLEASE HELP

You very well may have contracted something from that parlor. And if you did, it may have been the catalyst to your Lyme symptoms. Most likely, if it wasn't the parlor that compromised your immune system, it would have been something else, eventually, that would have brought out the symptoms.

Look at the bright side, at least you caught this when your immune system was active enough to produce antibodies enough to give you a positive Lyme result. Had it been further on down the line, you don't know if what would have happened, and like many, you would be receiving negative Lyme tests wondering what in the world is wrong with you. At least now, you know what you have and you can begin proper treatment.

I'm just as new as you are here, but I think everyone has it right - the two are unrelated, or the scary incident triggered your Lyme. It happened to me too. I had the Lyme for a while and didn't know it, but then got sick with something else and everything just came out and fell on me at once.

Both myself and the other guy think it was whatever was in the bottle they were using because of the way they reacted. They knew what we were looking for and they knew that we were on to something. If I got something from the ladies hands I probably would have shown some external symptoms as well..

At this point I’m so concerned about my GFs well being it’s making beyond depressed, sick, and feeling so guilty. I love her so much that if I had to let her go just to protect her and keep her from this disaster I would. I just worry it may be too late.

Sexually active people get lyme too. It doesn't mean it came from sexual contact. It just mean when someone gets lyme it happened on a particular day, you can then reverse engineer a connection. Oh I had sexual contact with so and so the other day, "was that it".

Not necessarily. You can get lyme from a vector around the time you had sexual contact with another human just because. Just because people have sex and people also get lyme.

The odds are just astronomical that you got lyme from a hand onto that region.

You feel awful because you have lyme, you have to test results to 100% prove it.

You have got your answer.

What is happening now is you are very under educated on lyme and on the horrible symptoms it can does cause so you are still searching for an "answer".

Educate yourself on lyme and you will then understand why this is lyme. It's not just some little ole bacteria that you can knock out in a week, like a stomach bug.

For example you mention spine pain, coincidentally I'm experiencing some of that myself today. If I look down my spine hurts.

It's inflammation of the central nervous systems due to toxins of lyme.

First of all I just wanted to say thanks for getting back to me Babs, Dacarte, and Girlie. It means a lot. I'm super young and really in a bad place dealing with this pain. And yes, depression and anxiety are very real. I also don't have much support or anywhere to get advice so thank you.

Babs, it gives me a lot of hope knowing that you went from a very low to where you are now in your recovery.

Does that include saliva? Its too bad because I feel like there was a risk before I got my igenex results. But I will have her test should I have it done with IGENEX?

Also, when you contract lyme is it possible to get acute sickness?

When mine started I got what I thought was a flu that I never recovered from, aching all over, sweats, nightmares, with excruciating urinary pain. I think the urinary pain is because that's where it made entry into my body and I feel like that is why it is one of my most bothersome symptoms. What I imagine prostatitis would feel like. The spine and back pain developed later on. Those are my two daily most intense symptoms they never go away. Is that possible?

I have noticed that my skin looks terrible since this all started like its breaking out on the chest arms ect is that normal?

I know you all think a hand is not a vector and I cant say whether it is or isn't. I have a strong belief it was whatever was put on me that caused it. Especially because they hid it from us in panic when we went back.

Do you truly think that this is lyme causing my symptoms instead of the chance that this lady (sketchy) had some sort of other unknown or new STD/virus? or that I had lyme all along and these symptoms are unrelated?

There are a few people on the internet I've come into contact with getting a mystery illness from a hand at one of those massage places. Same exact symptoms. Its bizarre.

I just want to make sure I'm treating the problem that's giving me these miserable symptoms. I worry that I have some sort of bug that is affecting my lyme results or completely unrelated. Don't get me wrong, based on my results its something to treat but is that what is causing this

I was given DOXY right off the bat for a suspected STD so I don't understand why that wouldn't have knocked it out or even given me relief.

I wont be able to see an LLMD for some time is there anything I can do to start my recovery? Protocols? I feel like every day is important
