Recommendation for Herbal Protocol for Bart and Lyme

I'd love to hear advice on how to begin a herbal protocol for Bartonella (with suspected Lyme and previous positive for Mycoplasma). I've read a lot on this forum and researched the Buhner protocol, but have not tried using herbal remedies before this summer, so I don't really know what I'm doing....

I cannot tolerate abx due to terrible stomach problems (I've got leaky gut, candida, and likely IBD--just waiting for test results to confirm) and recently purchased Woodland Essence's Sida Plus (Sida acuta, Red Sage, Bidens frondosa, Bidens pilosa and Codonopsis), JK Plus ( Japanese Knotweed, Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa), Cordyceps, Eleuthero and Licorice Root), and Houttuynia tinctures. I understand that I need to start very low and go slow (i.e. one drop and titrate up as tolerated, with lots of detoxification), but I'm not sure about whether I selected the correct combination of tinctures and if I should do one at a time or start with one drop of each. Any advice or guidance you have would be so helpful to me.

A bit of background: I've had symptoms for 20+ years (with things getting very bad after contracting H1N1 six years ago) and received a diagnosis for the first time in 2016. A lot of damage has been done, and in addition to the Bart/Lyme symptoms, I now have POTS, MASD, bad asthma and allergies, migraines, endometriosis, and debilitating GI issues (on top of previous diagnoses of CFS and Fibromyalgia). I underwent an 8-month course of varied abx and anti-viral treatment in 2016, but had to stop when my body started having bad reactions to increasing types of abx. It just couldn't take it any longer. I was relatively stable after doing a course of Artemisinin and Houttuynia in the summer, and my symptoms by then were "just" mainly terrible fatigue and GI issues (which was a huge improvement). However, I had to have emergency dental surgery (two bone grafts and a sinus lift) last month and have been terribly ill ever since. Although I do everything possible to avoid steroids, I had to take them after the surgery (my LLMD approved me taking them), and I suspect that is the culprit (they always trigger flares for me). After a month of being horribly ill and now feeling like my Bart/Lyme is full-blown again, I feel like I need to start formally treating again to avoid things getting worse. I'm seeing my LLMD this week, but know my body still is not ready for abx treatment and my doctor doesn't feel comfortable prescribing herbs (he approves of using them to treat Lyme, but doesn't know enough about them to treat with them himself).

I can barely function now and feel desperate, so would love to hear your advice/ recommendations re. how I might proceed with using a herbel regime; abx are just not an option for me right now. Thank you!

why do you think that?

it has been proven to kill lyme and likely is affective againt co infections

You have legit scientific studies proving that people get cured of Lyme and coinfections by taking nothing but oregano oil?

I haven't taken that, but I'm pretty sure there are plenty here who have and I haven't heard anyone say that one item cured all their infections.

Lapis - So, was the oregano oil successful in-vitro?


We know that doesn't necessarily mean it works in vivo.

i'm fairly certain that one "thing" is never enough to clear these infections once you're in a chronic state.

I've ordered the recommended book and look forward to learning more. I saw my LLMD who is suggesting a full abx protocol, but I have concerns because it turns out I have some heart issues that may be worsened by the meds...My LLND suggested a course of Artemisinin and Cryptolepsis, at least until I can get my (pretty severe) GI and inflammation issues under better control. We're going to re-evaluate things in a month or two, to decide whether to stay with a herbal protocol or start to incorporate abx.
