Japanese knotweed/symptoms worse

I just started the buhner protocol last week. I started with JK. I am only on 7 drops 3x a day. Tomorrow I start 8 drops. I will do 8 for two days then go to 9 for 2 days. After 10 drops I will add in the cats claw at 2 drops etc etc. then I will add in the andrographis.

The thing is that my head tingling and fatigue and head pressure is worse. I feel like crap.

Would the Jp be the cause on such a low dose or is it just that my Lyme disease is in more of a flare up?

I do go through spells of feeling horrible and spells of feeling less horrible. Never 100% good though.

I would not raise your JK tomorrow. Either stay on the 7 drops or drop back to 6 drops for a few days.

You could just stabilize on the 7 drops and then add in the Cat's claw.

Yes, the JK could be causing a herx on 7 drops 3X daily.

I had a horrible time with jk. I substituted with Stephanie instead. IMO you are raising your doses too fast.

JK is strong stuff its got broad coverage including as a microbial killer. if you are "feeling it" pretty badly then stop and stay at that dose until it dies down.

better to start adding another herb as herbs work synergistically not additive. so even 1 drop of another herb would be ok as the next step in the process.

the other supporting stuff in buhner you could try but be careful of the anti-microbial ones.

Thanks everybody. I think I will stay at the 7 drops of the Japanese knotweed and add 2 drops of cats claw and slowly add more cats claw but when do I increase on the jp? And eventually I have to add the andrographis.

It's so complicated. Ugh!!

After you get the CC dosage (slowly) to 7 drops then add the Andrographis

After your taking the three of them at low dose - then start increasing each one - one by one.

7 drops several times a day is not a low dose for some people. My son was so sensitive to one of the Buhner herbs that we diluted the drops to 10% (so 1 mil in 10), then had a couple of drops of that a day - for weeks.

If it's hitting where it's needed, the effect can be severe.

It gets easier figuring out and taking the herbals as you move forward. You will be an expert in no time at all.

It could def be knotweed. I have a hard time with it, too. It makes my joint stiffness worse. I'm using powdered knotweed and after 5 months, I still can only take 5/8 tsp plus a smidgeon without making myself feel worse. And Buhner says it's an anti-inflammatory and supposed to make people feel less inflammation. Goes to show we don't all respond the same way, and I'm sure there are very specific reasons for that. It's not that we're just weird or being contradictory 😛

Cat's claw is far more herx provoking than knotweed, at least for me. I started with 1 drop 1x day and then 1 drop 2x day. I'd lwait 4-5 days before increasing doses. Give your body time to respond to the herbs. The response isn't usually instant.

Andrographis -
Just want to make sure you're aware this herb is known to cause allergic skin reactions - usually a bad case of hives - in some people. I've been afraid to try it for that reason. Maybe eventually. Do be careful. Start low and slow and watch for adverse reactions.

I cant even do 1 drop a day of JK right now. I started by working up to really low doses of everything else first (1/4tsp of CC powder, 3 drops of most everything else) and am going to try to reintroduce JK diluted soon I think. I am one that has to take everything REALLY slow

For me, Knotweed was the best. It really stopped some of my neuro symptoms ad I felt like it was protecting my brain more. I herxed more on CC as well.

Oh boy. I am totally confused now. Everybody has a different experience. I dont know what to do. I think my head tingling is worse since the jp. Also just overall don't feel good. Aches and pains everywhere. But tomorrow I plan on adding the cc. Maybe I will start with one drop 2 x for the first day. And then 1 drop 3 x per day then 2 drops etc. I think I am taking it slow.

Walkingbyfaith. Thanks for the heads up on the andrographis. I have heard about the hives. We shall see. Hopefully that won't happen.

Nw Lyme.. that's great that it worked for you.

Countingstarz. Are the herbs helping you at all?

This disease is just horrible. Not only do we feel ill but the constant research and reading and learning and figuring things out is so mind boggling and difficult. I wish I could get a really good llmd near me that's good and not expensive. But that is not happening. Unfortunately there are not enough of them and they don't take insurance!!!!

I think the common 'thread' is start low and go slow.

How slow you raise is up to you.

You'll be fine - you can back down the dosages if it's too much too fast.

Yeah, they seem to be. I've only been taking them for about a month now and am still on very small doses. I have noted small changes though.
