Frequency of llmd appointments -

I don’t think you’re being paranoid. If you don’t see the point in going even after you have been then somethings not right. I was supposed to go back for blood tests to confirm lyme when I had an em rash?! I just never went back, I will but when I feel it’s neccessary

What, blood tests to confirm the presence of EM in the past? I didn't see where Casa mentioned that.

If true, that's a huge red flag. That's not even a thing, I'm pretty sure. Secondly, not everyone gets the rash.

If not for that, I'd say the scheduling is a little excessive, unless you have something seriously acute going on and they want to see you more frequently, but typically they'd try to get you to link up with your PCP or a walk-in clinic for tests.

The one I was (still am, I guess) seeing scheduled me six weeks out from our first appointment, and then three months thereafter. Actually, she did want to see me in another six months, but I felt that's far too long.

She wrote scripts for liver tests wherever I could get them done.

Your doctor def sounds shady.

What was the reason for the quick follow-ups?


My appt.s started out every 4 to 5 weeks - and then went to every 8 weeks.

At the initial consult, it was laid out which tests I needed to have done on a monthly basis.
Then he prescribed abx and the prescription was for 6 weeks.

Next appt. we went over symptoms, and any issues with blood work (CBC, liver, and kidney function tests) and he gave me another prescription.

Hi Girlie, at first appointment she did a fairly good intake & all she gave me was trazadone ( for sleep ) and supplements.( and blood work orders)

The first follow up was ( 2 weeks after initial appointment) for test results & prescribing of doxy ( 100mg 2x/day- which also seemed like a red flag to me- as I know it's too low a dose/ maybe she plans on upping eventually, but she never mentioned it..) I also told her trazadone didn't help, but she didn't give me anything else. She prescribed another supplement after seeing test results.

She then said she wanted to see me 10 days into the doxy ( except I hadn't started it & told her & tried to cancel but she wanted to see me anyway- a waste in my opinion) all she did was pressure me about starting the doxy again- and take my $...and make me repeat all my symptoms....

Said she wanted to see me 2 weeks into my taking the doxy... I saw her- she gave me another doxy script that I didn't really need yet. The doxy was making my anxiety crazy & id requested a referral to someone who could help me, but llmd said she would. She gave me meds that made me crazy( suicidal ) ( which I knew would happen b/c I'd taken them before, and had the same results-but she wouldn't listen.)

My anxiety was even worse, and we were communicating by email and she required an appointment to finally give me the referral I had asked her for previously.

Somewhere in there I had to stop the doxy b/c I couldn't handle the anxiety & it took her forever to give me a referral...

She kept trying to schedule appointments every 2 weeks after that. I was already seeing a psychiatrist ( her referral) to handle the anxiety aspect, and hadn't been able to go back on the doxy yet.

I told her I didn't see a point in having another appointment until after I was back on the doxy ,She disagreed & only moved my appointment back by one week. That happened 2x.

The following week I had to cancel due to transportation issues.

(So it's been a whole 3 weeks since I've seen her...)

It's gotten really weird though. Like when I told her I had to get the anxiety under control before I went back on antibiotics, but that I was working on it & id let her know, she just kept scheduling me in for the following week- even though I'd been clear about the fact that I wouldn't be back on the doxy yet. She did that repeatedly- scheduling me random appointments via email & saying "please confirm"

And this time ( finally got to the place in my cycle where I get a little natural anxiety reduction,so I began the doxy again) I've only been back on the doxy for 3 days, I can't imagine what she'll need to see me for so soon !

It would make more sense to me now if she just let me get back onto the doxy for a month or so & make sure I'll be able to handle the anxiety ( I also had a lot of other bad symptoms returning on the doxy,which knew to expect )- my point being I could actually see a reason for an appointment in a month or so, but not tomorrow.

And I know if I let her tomorrow she'll try to get me in there in 10 days to 2 weeks - to 'see how I'm doing on the doxy'

Anyway, sorry for the LONG answer, tried to keep it short, but it's hard... ;)

Hi Pirouette, Thsnks for sharing your experience... and for the suggestions. Maybe you're right & we're just not communicating well.

And I have gone undiagnosed for a LONG time, lots of co infections etc... so I know there is a lot going on...

I will be sure to ask her tomorrow when she thinks we might be able to start getting into a 'groove'. And to explain to me where she's planning to go with the treatment plan etc.

I hope you're right and things will fall into place soon! The good part is that I'd already begun most of the herbal / supplements/and detox stuff prior to seeing her-(and I'd also gotten over the worst of my physical symptoms too) I can't imagine if I had to see her for every little thing all along! I would've been in there weekly!

Thanks for making me feel like I should give this doc a little more time, you're probably right! Plus I can't imagine trying to start over again with someone new!
