Hi BJD -
Awesome that you're making progress. Some of us "power through" the herxing, some of us are more sensitive to it - there are so many variables in the illness and the treatment!
One reason you're having better success on Beyond Balance is that it's less concentrated. So I would continue down that road.
Anxiety and agitation are pretty classic herxes - certainly for bart and babs. Although I am not real familiar with isatis - houttuynia - alchornia tincture. I've reacted with anxiety and agitation and several other sx with every bart or babs herbs I've ever tried. For some reason, I react less to Lyme herbs. But anxiety and agitation were a few of the herxing I developed after starting on IV abx for Lyme.
You can test for histamine intolerance, if that sounds like a fit. I was advised to take antihistamines with my reactions to infusing abx too quickly but that seemed ridiculous when I could just slow down the infusion, which did work. I'm not certain if it's advisable to take antihistamines with your herbs - that's a good question. Mayne others will have more info.
What are you doing for detox?

Thanks Pirouette,
I neglected to mention that I also tried Jernigan 's borrelogen. That didn't give me anxiety / agitation but rather brought pretty severe dizziness and a sensation that I was inside a bubble separated from the rest of the world. Is that considered to be "brain fog"? Omnicef also gave me the dizzy sensation. While I can tolerate the dizzy sensation better than the agitation, my cognitive agility suffers and that makes it hard to function at my job as a health care professional.
I dunno what to do. So few absolutes with this disease. It's so hard to motivate myself to go backwards with no idea of how long to expect the herx reactions to last or how long they take to lessen.
As for detox: about
64 Oz h2o per day, chlorella, blue heron detoxifying complex, Jernigan neuro-antitox-ii-cns/pns, dandelion drops, parsley drops. I was taking nightly epsom /h202 baths but need to stop those til a skin condition clears. I've tried the alka seltzer gold - lemon-glutathion remedy but felt minimal benefit, so I don't do that much. Same goes with coffee enemas; for me, the benefit would need to be profound to be worth the effort.
I remember you singing the praises of cholestyramine. Specifically, how was that beneficial?
