Starting Mepron tomorrow... Any suggestions?

I am starting Mepron liquid suspension tomorrow as per provider's orders (10 mL twice a day). Has anyone taken this before? Recommendations such as take with food or no food- any tips if should eat, what kind of food?

Again, any feedback is helpful and appreciated!

Yup, take it with a meal, and something high in fat - nuts, nut butter, oil, avocados, fish, etc. I felt a definite difference when I just took it with my meal, then remembered to specifically add high fat. Was herxing in a few days.

My doctor also uses a high dose of 10 mL twice a day. I would start with 5 (1 tsp) at breakfast and dinner, as girlie mentioned, and work up to 10 (2 tsp)

When I first took Mepron it made my tongue go numb. It was weird, but went away.
It’s very thick, so I haven’t been able to use any dosing spoons or cups provided by the pharmacy. The bottle neck is too narrow to fit a dosing syringe. So I use a spoon.
It’s very yellow and will stain fingers and fabrics, so be careful (though I’m sure it washes out)

It needs to be taken in combo with some other antibiotic. I used zithromax (azithromycin). Taking them together made me bloated, though, so I wait 1 hour after my Mepron to take the z-max.

It took four rounds for most of the Babs symptoms to disappear, but that was a low dose. Going to try again at 10 mg and hopefully knock out the rest

I call doctor and asked for a call back in the morning .she wants me to take the minocycline ,ceft,and the mepron ,I dont understand why . I thought you had to take zixmo,or clarithmoycin with the mepron >>>?????

No, it doesn't have to be Zithromax or Biaxin taken with Mepron.

Minocycline and a Cephalosporin are a good combo with it.

I started Mepron last week at 5 mL twice a day. It was rough at first but now I just have increased sx like off balance issues seem worse, I feel a bit more anxious, my left shoulder blade pain flared (which is weird..) and weakness increased.

It's hard to tell if it is doing something, but I am hoping that after a couple months I see a breakthrough.
