Ryan Stig had already done a lot to improve his health before he did water fasting. I think it would be detrimental for anyone with an active infection it would weaken the immune system.
The article says he made the most improvement after a stint at a german clinic where he would have got, IV antibiotics, IV nutritional support, ozone,....the whole gamut of lyme support treatments as well as hypothermia. Maybe that killed the infection but didnt make him symptom free. So he used the water fasting to pick up his health after that. Remember he's an athlete so something extreme like that would be doable. I couldn't do it.
