Does Anyone Else's Skin Get Red To Touch?

Hi folks,

Does anybody else's skin get super red when touched, but not raised or itchy? Over the last few weeks, I noticed that my skin sometimes look kinda pale, but when touched - by fingers, clothes, whatever - that spot will get very red or streaked, and stay that while for a while. Like it usually does when you get out of the shower or whatever, but more so. It doesn't itch, and it isn't technically "dermatographia".

By the time I got to the doctor, it wasn't doing it, of course. The doctor said it was probably a doxy side effect - I've been done with doxy about 10 days now, but it's doing it again.

This is in addition to my skin looking slightly mottled occasionally. I saw some people on here get that, but even more extreme than me.

I think it is normal lyme. Is there such a thing as "normal" and lyme in the same sentence???

Anyway, check out this comparison chart. Scroll down to the Skin Disturbances heading and you will see it is typical of lyme and many of the co-infections.

Yeah, there's so many weird symptoms from this stuff that nothing really "scares" me anymore. I guess it's our new normal.

I had something similar to that most of my life. I'm also pretty sure I've had Lyme, ehrlichia, and bartonella most of my life. Oddly, my skin is not much like that now, although I do get marks on my skin anywhere there is something tight, like the top of my socks, bra straps, waistbands, etc.

I saw an allergist in 2009 when I first started having wild symptoms. He was obsessed with my skin and kept touching my skin and commenting on how blotchy and "broke out" it was, even though I did not have acne or hives. I don't why he referred to it as "broke out." Looking back now, I'm sure he knew something, as he also noticed the bartonella streaks on my abdomen. Unfortunately, I don't recall him ever mentioning Lyme disease or bartonella. Maybe he didn't know. But he knew something. It's possible he asked me if I'd ever had a tick bite. I don't remember him asking, but I've never had a known tick bite, so I may have just missed my clue.

^ That is essentially what I was talking about. My clothes leave deep marks everywhere now - I know that happens to everybody, but much more so now.
