Old looking hands & feet

Anyone have atrophy in hands/feet and crapey old skin. My hands have aged and shrank like an old persons in the last year. Is this a Lyme symptom? The skin is sooo dry and rough like sand paper too. Any remedies that are natural/organic that work for you would be helpful.

Somebody else brought up this exact subject not too long ago and there seemed to be a number of folks who have the same problem, myself included. Funny, I was talking to a friend of mine today about my aged looking hands. She and I are the same age yet my hands look decades older than hers. I don't know that Lyme is the cause but given so many of us experience this, I am inclined to believe it is.

Hi Mareish! Thanks for response. Yes, I have heard this could be a symptom. So strange though. Tops of my hands literally feel like sand paper. Are your hands and feet atrophying? Meaning muscle and fat shrinkage leaving loose thin skin?

Yes, the skin on my hands is sand paperish, thin, loose, and ugly.

My feet are not as bad. I have a lot of foot problems with all of this, and my feet are usually a bit swollen depending on what area of them is affected at the time. When my foot tendon, joint issues resolve, I expect the feet to resemble the hands.

The skin on my calves is pretty bad, too. Hoping it does not migrate to the face!!

Sorry, I did not respond to your atrophy question. I can't tell if it is in fact atrophy, but it sure looks like it.

I totally remember thinking this when I looked at my hands and feet, I thought they looked so old, this went away though, and my skin looks young again.

Oh my gosh lyme gave me super crepe skin. It was on my hands and the tender side of my arms. I upped my collagen. I also drank more water. I took vitamin C. I used sunblock.

Mine improved when my lyme went away, but then my age took over and it looks like it did before.

How about your fingers? I still have streaks on my fingertips. It looks like I have soaked in bath water too long and I have those ridges on my fingers. They get even worse when I am in the cold.

I guess I am stuck with those also and it could be age related too.

The skin on my hands is thin and crepey.
And skin and bone.

My feet are skin and bone, too....

My hand skin isn't shiny anymore at least..

Hi Gabybee, PeteZa & Girlie! Thanks for response! Yes, PeteZa my fingers totally have the streaks like soaking in water! These just recently appeared. I guess this is now a confirmed Lyme symptom being that you alll are experiencing the same thing. Oh joy!!! And yes Mareish let’s hope it does t go to the face. My face and lips especially are ultra dry. Lips are peeling and scaly. Need to get better with my water in take. I do take vit C, but maybe need to use some topically as well. Just seems like anything g I use doesn’t trap the water to the skin. I am glad to hear your skin got better Gabybee! There is hope!

I also have the lines on the pads of my fingers. Actually only on the left hand now - which is the side I have the nerve issues.
But, they aren't like that all the time...so they are improving....just looking at them now and they are plump.

How about your nails? Mine were loaded with the white spots...and also vertical ridges.
Lost my moons too.

Now the white spots are almost gone...just have one almost grown out...but the vertical ridges are still there.
The moon has started to come back on my right index finger.

I have this too. Lots of wrinkles. My face is getting wrinkles too. I've also been getting a ton of grey hairs. I'm 36 years old. Not sure if it's normal or if it's lyme. I think the skin issues are lyme. Not sure about the grey hair though.

Yeah. I got it too, and I'm only 30. I have basically stopped all dieting (stay away from sugar) due to all my weight loss and freaking out about the atropy etc.

Yes, I have the same on my hands. They look like an old man.

For my feet it's ok, but I have places on each where my skin is peeling since years and it doesn't heal.
