Igx band 41 only test results

Hello all,
Got tested and here are the test results(Only posting the bands that showed either Indeterminate or Positive)

Western IgM
31 I
39 I
41 ++

Western IgG
39 I
41 ++

Serum - Plasmid Pos

All other bands are negative

Does this mean I have Lyme? Cause I have heard band 41 can mean any bacterial infection. Thank you for your time.

Band 41 isn't Lyme specific, but many (most?) of us who test have that band.
It is the flagella (tail) of a spirochete - and besides borrelia, it can be syphilis, dental spirochetes...and a few others.

But, you were IND on bands 31 and 39.

IND means something showed up, but it wasn't dark enough to be considered a positive.

But this:

What is that? I'm not familiar with that - but it looks to be a positive for some thing?

I'm assuming you have symptoms/history that point to Lyme disease - that prompted you to test...so since lyme is a clinical diagnosis - have you thought about seeing a LLMD?

I only tested for positive for and 41 and was clinically diagnosed for Lyme and co infections


I wouldn't completely rule out Lyme and co testing can be unreliable its so confusing.

I wasn't CDC or Igenex positive (I think Igenex is the same as CDC).

I did have positive bands but my symptoms said I had lyme and that was enough for me and the LLMDs.

No, they aren’t the same.

For IgM CDC has a shorter list of bands that “qualify “

For IgG - CDC requires 5 bands (instead of 2)

IgM:

Positive If two or more of the following bands are present: 23-25, 31, 34, 39, 41 and 83-93 kDa.

Exception: Negative: If only bands 41 kDa and 83-93 kDa are present.

Indeterminate If only bands 31 and 41kDa OR only bands 31 and 83-93kDa are present.


IgG:

Positive If two or more of the following bands are present: 23-25, 31, 34, 39, 41 and 83-93 kDa.

Exception: Indeterminate: If only bands 31 and 41kDa are present.

Indeterminate If only bands 31 and 41kDa are present.
