Lyme? Bartonella? Anxiety?

First, I am extremely sorry for the long post.
Around the last days of october I was in the car with my boyfriend, I started getting some chest pain and I lost it. I was going to die. My whole world came crashing down. i started trembling, had tachycardia He drove me to the emergency room, everything came back fine except the EKG. That day changed my life forever. After that trip to the ER in a span of 1 month I've been at least 5 times, certain I was going to die. about 2 weeks after that episode I got a cold and the worst headache and neck pain (ended up in the ER again, it was just a stong throath infection) ended up losing my voice for a day. I visitited a cardiologist because I was sure something was wrong with my heart, they did an echo an a 24hr holter, I do have MVP but it is very mild, and the tachycardia are benign. I then visited a genecistist because I was convinced I had Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndome. about a week after that I landed in the ER because I woke up and everything was blurry, I couldn't focus, it went away while in the ER and they could find nothing wrong.
I am a 21 years old female from Puerto Rico. In 2013 I find a tick latched onto my spine, I removed it and never tought about it again. In 2016 I found several ticks in my bed and myself in a period of weeks, removed them, fumigated and went on with my life. Then, approximately last month or late november/ early december I found another one.
Around Christmas I started getting twitching in my eye, feeling tremors, fasciculations (convinced myself I had ALS), had a muscle cramp which left my calf hurting for some days, tingling in feet, blurred vision almost double vision, extreme itch, and a persisting weird feeling in the sole of my left foot, also I had one day with a headache...
I am an the end of my rope, extremely desperate. From the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep I have this sense of impending doom, I feel like at any time I am going to faint, I am having horrible constant episodes of derealization and dissaciosation Since that episode in October I feel like I'm going mad.
As of yesterday I discovered what I presume to be a rash on my back, for some reason I've been more aware of my body reactions, and notice I tend to get random hives, under my breast, in my chest, even on my face, they show up, maybe itch and dissapear the same or next day.

Yesterday I had an appointment with a neurologist, I mentioned my fear of Lyme because I am losing my mind and grasping for an answer, he told me that there was no Lyme in Puerto Rico and did not order the test.

My question is could it be Bartonella then? Or a severe case of health anxiety? (The doctor believed Bartonella this was improbable due to the fact that the rash looked more like a wound)
Please, I want to get my life back. I am not in physical pain but I feel like someone hacked my brain and I just can't deal anymore.

Your symptoms and symptom progression sound very much like mine.

This "Lyme isn't here" BS angers me. Borrelia is everywhere there are ticks. Bartonella is everywhere. Mycoplasma is everywhere.

My GP also said "Lyme isn't here". I am in Missouri and that is why I chose my screen name. So other Missourians that search google may see my posts.

Unfortunately most doctors will not thoroughly investigate their patients for tick borne infections. You would have to make an appt with a Lyme Literate doctor to get past the "lyme isn't here" crap and get proper testing.

You should be careful with this! There are "no cases" of Lyme in Arkansas officially as well - and yet there are a number of us that live here, that have confirmed cases (CDC positive) of not only Lyme, but many other infections as well.

From the symptoms you list in your first post, I would say that you likely have Lyme, and Bartonella as well - and possibly more, as it's quite common to have several infections.

VERY good!! LOL! You're a fast learner!! We have a lot of Lyme patients that have too much brain fog to understand how to do this.

So, now, if you will refer to each picture (like #1, #2 or A, B or whatever) and let us know what we are looking at and for, and we will see if we can be of help.

I know next to nothing about rashes, but as far as your doubts-

I had the very same doubts you are having now. My GP told me "Lyme isn't here". I didn't get a bulls-eye rash...

Every day I go without twitching, my doubts are fading away.

I had twitches and tremors out of control for over two years. Twitching around my eyes was at least every 15 mins 24 hours day for 2 years straight. Mostly in my left upper eye-lid / face. My thighs, calfs, fingers, arm muscles twitched every day.

Since starting antibiotic treatment a few months ago, I have barely had any twitching.

My wooziness, derealization, anxiety have all been almost completely gone during treatment so far.

My most stubborn symptom is the double vision in my left eye. It seems reduced, but it is hard to tell. It is definitely still there.

Fatigue has been greatly reduced so far.


Anyways - I went to an LLMD and have not regretted it.

That may be your best option if your doctors are unable to figure out why your body is going haywire.

Some may recommend ordering Igenex test kits and trying to get your doctor to sign off and draw blood. My doctor would not do this.

From what I hear herbal therapy can be very effective for tick borne infections. There are people here that healed using herbs only.

As of now my worst symptoms are blurred/double vision, anxiety, panicky feeling, derealization and the 24/7 feeling I am going to drop dead, I currently have the rash of picture #1 but it isn't painful nor it itches. I do get some tingling in my feet but it is usually when I sit in the toilet (lol tmi sorry) and it goes away as soon as I stand up.... these are my main symptoms for the past few days.


There is no LLMD in Puerto Rico, at least none that I have found yet. Lyme disease is seldomly talked in the Island. I guess my best shot is to find a doctor who is willing to test me but I don't know where to start.

I am looking for information on supplements or remedies I could buy either on internet or on nature stores. If anyone could be of guidance or maybe if there is a list.
