Is pins and needles from lyme or from doxy?

I am at my 3rd week of doxy daily and pulsed azithromycin, and i am starting to have a herxheimer? Or is this abx allergy, as i take with my abx acid reducing medication like omeprazole, if i don't, i feel like my gut will burn. It helps, but today i woke up with a pins and needles feeling that i had almost a year ago when i didn't know what was wrong with me and i wasn't on any medication besides antihistamines that didn't do JACK S*IT.

So, wondering, if i should stop and take a break or if this is a herx and i'll be fine. It feels sort of like a glass or plastic hurting me sensation throughout my body, hands, feet, face. The million dollar question that i keep thinking about everyday: Am i treating myself or am i damaging my body more?

This is most likely a herx. What are you doing for detoxing?

I would definitely encourage you to restart the silybin, as that will help your liver detox much easier.

Turmeric (with pepperine, a black pepper extract) will help with any inflammation that may be contributing to this symptom. I know it helps with mine, but not everyone deals with the same amount of inflammation.

You're body is likely over run with toxins, as well as having symptoms of these infections. If you can, rest today,eat well, stay well hydrated and detox. This should bring this under control fairly soon.

I do agree! But it really sounds like a herx - the timing and the reaction is about right. Allergic reactions usually start with an allergic rash, then moves on to include other areas of the body, like your airway swelling and eye swelling. You didn't mention any of that, so it's fairly safe to assume you are herxing - but always watch for signs of an allergic reaction - whether you are using herbs or abx! Then there's no time to waste and we must stop the meds/herbs and likely need to be seen in urgent care.

If you have an allergy - then you go off of those meds and switch to something else.

There are many different combinations of abx to take for these infections.

It turned to be yeast overgrowth. Not peripheral neuropathy, there wasn't pain.

Don't allow yourself to get caught up in the "what if's" - that's a rabbit hole full of anxiety that won't help you any at all. I know this is tough - but the treatment for C diff can clear it up and then you can go back to treatment - although you will have to be very careful.

The other option is to turn to herbs - while they too can create intestinal issues, it's not near as likely as with pharmaceuticals.

And, as far as needing steroids - when it comes down to being able to breathe or not, steroids are the choice. It's short term needs over long term needs at that point. But, of course, it's best to not get to that point. I've told both of my kids and my hubby that I am to never get steroids - unless it's very obvious it's a situation where it will save my life....as in an allergic reaction. I can overcome having to use steroids, but I can't overcome not being able to breathe.

I have diarrhea 4 times a day and abdominal cramps. I had these exact symptoms in march of 2017 when I wasn't on any abx. I stayed this summer in the hospital for abdominal cramps thinking it was acid reflux. I took the acid reflux med and it was placebo that they helped or they helped, but the body eventually got rid of the abdominal discomfort.

My vision got worse and my tinnitus got louder in sept. In October I found out about Lyme, which I've been suffering for years by now.

The abx may have caused the relapse of diarrhea and abdominal cramps, but they were not the root cause initially.

Sometimes lyme can cause an autoimmune reaction.

Doxy will help treat lyme disease...but it's not enough. you can start with it...but a second med should be added to it.

Make sure you take doxy with food...it's hard on the GI.

...and make sure you've got a good detox regimen going.
