Anyone that has fully healed Chronic Lyme for Long Term ABX?

unfortunately goose you aren't going to get an answer you want because everyone is so different that one can't know if you'll ever eradicate these infections.

my first LLMD after diagnosing me said after i asked him about how long until i'm well. he said i had another patient almost exactly the same as you and it took him about 6 months then he relapsed then it was an additional 3 months.

so here i am 3 years later and still fighting these little buggers so comparison to the other person was totally worthless.

what i can tell you from being 'through the ringer' almost 3x longer than you. you have to stick with it and you have to trust your LLMD and whatever process they use. yes you can and will more than likely get better but no one can say what that road will look like and how long.

my advice is don't give up. make sure your LLMD is good enough to treat you. make sure he's dealing with lyme and co-infections + other things to support the body like detoxing, immune support, a clean diet, lots of fluids.

the fact that he told you it'll be a few more years and you'll be completely healed worries me because no one can guarantee that.

My bad, He said "several" more years not a few, I may have used the word few instead of several, not sure, and he didn't say completely healed.. my bad again.

My goal for this post was to find people who were "completely healed" though. People who have used long term antibiotics and eradicated the little buggers and have not had issues since. It seems to me that if I cannot find people who have healed, then I am just as well to control my symptoms and take an ssri/benzo until better treatment options get researched or known. I know there are a ton of flaws with this plan. But taking abx for several more years is not exactly a fool proof plan either if nobody can vouch that it was truly effective. It would be one thing to continue through mental hell for years if I knew I would come out healed, but the not knowing is killing me and I am losing myself more and more every day. My anxiety is borderline out of control and my social life has been in ruins for some time now. I live alone and who knows what several more years would do to me.

Under my first LLMD, who I didnt have much success with, I was treating babesia with specific herbals. My new LLMD says that the medicines he prescribes make people better and that it is not necessary to treat co-infections specifically. He does, and has prescibed me meds like plaquenil, which may be aimed at babs, etc. He is basically saying that if I follow his regimen, which is indeed very specific, that I will get better, that it is not necessary to test for co-infections...

Not sure what to think about this, I've also heard others say that the testing is so unreliable that co-infection treatment is often, as it was with me with my first LLMD, based on clinical diagnosis.

Note: I did have killer night sweats when I started seeing this second doctor, which my first doc said was due to babs. These sweats went away after treating yeast right off the bat with this second doctor. He seems to know what hes doing and like I said has great reviews from patients. Its just hard times right now and I cannot help but second guess..

Is there anyone out there who can vouch that this is a valid goal? Am I better off to find a different doctor who can try just keeping the Lyme under control with herbals, etc.

There are some antibiotic successes in this thread:

Chapelle, Opugirl, violets, lymesingerinCO......all healed on antibiotics.
