Hi there,
I'm new to this forum and have been diagnosed with chronic lyme disease half a year ago.
I'm struggling with a weird symptom I haven't heard anyone mention, so I'm hoping someone can comment on this wether they recognize it / have heard of it before .
When I get tired or stretch my limits, I often get something that I call the 'shivers', but it's not the cold chills. It's like a really uncomfortable feeling in my head, so uncomfortable that it sends shivers down my spine (the way someone scratching a chalkboard would). It's not exactly pain, or pressure, more like an inflamed / agitated feeling. Sometimes it will move to my neck and my muscles there will cramp up because of it.
The only thing that helps is lying down without noise or light and applying pressure to my head, but it can last for hours and I can't do anything or the feeling will get even worse.
Does this sound like a lyme-related symptom to anyone? I would appreciate any comments!
Hi Lizzy - welcome!
I have the 'shivers' . Mine can be worse in the cold, but what often triggers mine is something exciting, or 'moving'...If I go to the theatre to watch a movie, I am shivering - up and down my spine.
Sometimes a really good song I hear will do the same.
Mine doesn't start in my head, but it definitely goes down my spine and can last several minutes.
Yes, it sounds like lyme and/or confection symptom. Do you have any other symptoms? Did you have a tick bite?
I suggest you get a Lyme disease test done - Do you have a Dr. that would be willing to sign the lab req?
You can get a Lyme WB IgM and IgG for $250.
/igenex.comYou call them and they will send you a test kit. Fill out the lab req , have your Dr. sign, get the blood drawn and Fedex it to Igenex (on a Monday or Tuesday)
