Lyme + Bart - neuropathy getting worse?

I am going to remain on supportive supplements, the list is long... CoQ10, carnitine, NT Factor for nerves. Capriplus and probiotics for potential y/f. Liposomal glutathione and curcumin as a protective agent. Oh and we discussed staying on lumbrokinase, to keep bugs from going back into hiding. That's the one thing that's kinda bug attacking. And keeping on 5htp because this health stuff makes me stressed.

The one interesting thing is that I've been off the b complex since thanksgiving. I had a pretty big reduction in nerve issues during that time. I was only taking 50mg but toxicity levels seem to vary greatly. Then stopped mino at dr direction after reading seeing some reports of necratizing fasciatis with mino. Super remote possibility, but thinking that maybe some of these toxic affects were additive. Who knows. I'm remaining cautiously optimistic. Ready to go back on a treatment if necessary, but hoping i don't need to.

The deciding factor is that I had no real nerve issues prior to starting treatment. It crept in while taking y/f prescriptions, and never went away. Fingers crossed.

Just wanted to respond to this since others had similar experiences.

I stopped all abx and slowly the nerve issues went away. I'm nearly nerve symptom free. After digging through a lot of things, I think it was the minocycline. It is known to trigger nerve issues in some.

Still battling a minor vertigo/dizzyness/fuzzyness, but I, and my llmd, think it might be sinus related. Trying to get to an ENT with my PCP and track that down.

But, is it a side effect or is it because you're hitting the bacteria with the mino? That is the question.

Minocycline penetrates the CNS well...and sometimes we end up with CNS driven symptoms as side effects...dizziness, off-balance....etc.

Are the vertigo/dizziness/fuzziness symptoms your only symptoms left?

I got many of these same symptoms from treating bart with sida, houttuynia, oregano oil, knotweed, and andrographis. I lost the herx after several weeks and added Bactrim, that flared up my Lyme so badly that I had to stop it. I'm going to try trimethoprim next and then rifampin, I'm still on the herbs.

Yes, the sulfamethoxazole component of Bactrim is usually what causes bad reactions in people. I'm hoping trimethoprim on its own will be effective when combined with the herbal protocol. My neuropathic symptoms resolved quickly when the herx subsided.

The Bactrim (400-80) caused a mild flareup of Bart symptoms for me, but after 9 days I had a Lyme herx with fever, tachycardia, and awful migrating joint pain. It's been two months and my joints are still more painful than they were before the Bactrim. This time I'm going to go more slowly with trimethoprim, and if the herx is too much I'll switch to rifampin.

Clove oil has also been effective for me, I started with one diluted drop applied to both soles, and I'm now up to four drops. In the first few weeks I'd get pea-sized bruises around my body, and I'm still getting random areas of petechia.
