Need Help Finding LLMD Near Milwaukee

Hi everyone,

I have been having a lot of strange symptoms lately and wanted to get your opinions on the matter. I'll try to make my story as short as possible. 2 months ago I was sick with the flu for a few days. I was starting to feel better the following week when all of a sudden I felt a numbing sensation come over the left side of my face. It felt like an anesthetic or novocaine shot at the dentist's office. Then a few minutes later, I had tingling in my left arm so I went to the ER. They thought it was a stroke so I did a CT scan. I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights and all of my tests (MRI, CT scan, Echo) were all normal. The neurologist thought this was due to migraines since I have had a history with bad headaches.

A day or so after leaving the hospital, I noticed that my vision was different. The closest thing I can find to what I am experiencing is "visual snow," where you see static everywhere 24/7. I also see after images occasionally. On top of the vision problems, the numbness in my face would come and go over the next month. Now it seems like the numbness is always there, it never really goes away. So after visiting 9 or 10 different doctors and trying different meds, I saw a Lyme doctor last week in the Chicago area to get a Western Blot done. Mind you, I don't live near a wooded area and I'm not quite convinced this is Lyme related, but I read that many people with LD seem to have visual snow as one of their symptoms. My results showed band 41 for IgG and IgM were abnormal. So again, the results cannot determine for sure if I have Lyme. Does anyone here have any advice? Should I go on to take the IGeneX test? I would love to see an honest and reputable LLMD in the Milwaukee/Chicago area. I was not entirely happy with the Chicago doctor's service. Thanks everyone!

Sorry I missed your thread earlier.

Band 41 is the flagella (tail) of a spirochete. There are several spirochetes with flagellas - including Lyme. Others are syphillis, and dental and a few more.

I would do the Igenex - just the WB IgM and IgG (not the screening - IFA or Elisa)

It costs $250 total for both.

Also - yes, what you're experiencing could be lyme.

Thank you so much for the responses! I forgot to mention that the Western Blot was done through LabCorp. The doctor I saw wanted to charge over $400 for the Igenex test. I’m not sure what the test typically costs. I’d love to know if anyone had any positive experiences with doctors in my area!

The Lyme WB IgM and IgG is $250.

You don't need the IFA or Elisa - they're just 'screening' tests and don't tell you much...just a negative or positive.

I had an EEG done yesterday and my results came back normal of course.

Sometime the test you need is seeing a biological dds. I believe there is one in Pewaukee

So I got my igenex results back today. I definitely was not expecting a positive result but that is what my results indicate..

IgM:

31 +

IgG:

23 ind

What do you guys think? Could this be a false positive? I had a regular western blot done last month and bands 41 for both igG and igM were abnormal so I decided to get the igenex test done.

Not a false positive. You had a negative at a different lab that doesn’t specialize in tickborne disease testing.

I can assure you that many people get negatives even with Igenex.
This test result with your symptoms = Lyme disease

Pauly I'm near MKE. Dr. M in fondy is good. Let me know if you come across any Drs that take insurance. I have been on buhners protocol due to financial reasons.
Dr.m is good seen him 10 yrs ago.

Yes I do. It’s only been a couple months - right?

I only had a few symptoms in the first few months. Over time I got more and more - ended up with many many symptoms when I was finally diagnosed 14 months later

I suggest you treat now...don't wait for more symptoms - if I could turn back time....
