Help! Need to take Rifampin but it lowers blood levels of my anti-depressant!

has anyone been on Rifampin and also anti-depressants?
How did you manage when the Rifampin lowers the SSRI's effect
Did you up your dosage of anti -D

Zita - Have you checked out Rifabutin.

I put Rifampin and an SSRI in the Drug Interaction report and it showed "moderate" for lowering the effects.

I then put the same SSRI in the report with Rifabutin and it came up showing no interactions.

I haven't checked out any other interaction reports though.

add st jons and get vit d up with sun if your not on doxy...also mucuna is a source of dopamine since our gut dont make it any more ...

Hi, from what I've read we need to go up on our antidepressants, sometimes up to 3 times higher, while on Rifampin. But talk to your doctor first.
