It was triple therapy for H. Pylori that led me to believe I have lime. After many treatments for GI issues, antifungals, elimination diets, all the probiotics they make, allergy testing and every other test coming up negative except H. Pylori I did the triple therapy.
I never felt better in my life! I had energy, my libido improved , I wasn't so OCD, my diagnosed IBS was gone and I could eat any of the trigger foods that set it off. I thought I was cured. After about
a month the symptoms slowly came back so the GI did an upper and a breath test to rule out H. Pylori, both came up negative. He then said I probably have SIBO so I started Rifaximin, this didn't work so he did a double therapy of rifaxamin and neomycin still no luck. He didn't want to prescribe the same antibiotics for triple therapy because a weak to the day that I stopped I had a sever reaction to them.
I don't think that the antibiotics for SIBO worked because the true problem is intracellular and those particular antibiotics stay in the lumen. Also my main symptoms of IBS is like constipated diarrhea i.e. diarrhea that wont come out even though it sits in there cramping and gurgling all day. Sorry if that is TMI but it is as if the nerves aren't firing right and wont let it come out, once again something more like what lyme would do.
After this I sought out the help of a local MD who is more holistic and I got right back on the merry go round again. you know after all of the antibiotics a probably had yeast so once again probiotics, anitfungals and on and on with no results! So sometimes the advice you get about
more probiotics, fiber and etc are pretty much meaningless if the guts can't function properly in the first place. I have also tried all of the alternative stuff for H. Pylori like mastic gum, oils, herbs that had had no effect for me.
I was reading online that H. Pylori and Lyme can cross react so I had to make sure that I didn't have a false positive H. Pylori test when I really have Lyme or maybe both? I ordered the Igenex Lyme test and it showed a few positives, some of them Lyme specific. I had my first LLND appointment last Wednesday. He ordered more tests and started me on a detox protocol, no antibiotics yet so I can't tell you if those have worked. The only natural product that has ever helped my GI issues is bromelain, preferably from eating fresh pineapple but the pills work to if you can't find any, I have even had a pretty severe Herx from it.
