Hi, I was wondering if any of you had been diagnosed with Lyme disease at a younger age due to a biological parent passing it to you and also if you have tried Cats Claw (not sure how its spelled at the moment) and having proof that it works? I am currently in this situation and looking to find a test that would be the most accurate since I was diagnosed about 19 years ago. I do not know what test we were tested with but my dad, being a Choropractor chose the treatent Cats Claw for our family. I also had a recent test (not sure which one) and results showed 0.5 =<9.0. Could this be a sign that the cats claw worked? Or negative test? I’m new to this and am a little confused. Any tips would be appreciated.

What lab did you have the testing done at?

If you know you have LD, then you don't need a test... retesting once you're in treatment won't necessarily tell you if you're healed.
I believe the Armin Labs testing (Germany) - some LLMD"s are using that one to gauge response for treatment...but I haven't heard of any other labs that you can get that information.

There really isn't proof that an herb or antibiotic has worked...you need to go by symptoms.

If your symptoms improve...it's working. If you herx....that can also be an indication it's working.

If I were you and wanted to treat herbally, I would add in a few more herbs besides Cats Claw . Japanese Knotweed is good.

Also, there are coinfections that come with lyme. A couple of them: Bartonella and Babesia.

You will need different herbs to treat them.

Thank you Girlie, I know the name of the place I got tested at, but do not know where they send the tests. I will difintely look into the symptoms as well as knotweed. I am a little unsure of symptoms because I have Hashimotos and have had anemia due to heavy periods. So I am not sure if it is Lyme disease acting out in these areas or if there are other causes. Do you think that Lyme messes with the thyroid? I have tried to do some research but it is confusing sorting through online.

Yes, Lyme can mess with the thyroid.

Lyme can cause other autoimmune diseases as well.
