Post your Igenex bloodwork results

I thought it would be interesting to see everyone's Igenex results. If you don't mind, could you post your results here? I have to dig mine up. I actually have two. I will post them later today.

have yet to get IGeneX tested though question for all of you- did your regular doctors or LLMD refer you to the lab? does an LLMD need to be the one to refer or could I ask a primary care physician to get the tests run faster? also, how do you know which tests to ask for? i looked on the IGeneX website and they offer so many blood tests! whats typical? Ive had 2 negative ELISA tests, but no other tests done yet. thanks for the advice! hope to add my results on here soon!

To save money, you can just do the Western Blot IgM and IgG (I think test #188 & #189).

But if you want a more comprehensive Lyme panel, you can do the IGeneX Panel 6050, which includes the IFA screening test, Western Blot IgM & IgG, and PCR tests.

None of the above look for coinfections...IGeneX does offer some coinfection tests, but they don't test for mycoplasma. You might consider looking into MDI, Clongen or Fry Labs for coinfection testing.

You can get the test from Igenex via their website, it's free and then have your regular doctor, if their willing, draw the blood and send it off.

If you are planning to see an LLMD they would do this at your initial visit and it will be part of the cost of that visit. You might want to wait to do this as they might want co-infection testing, as well. Although this will cost you for the testing, you can submit the bill to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Anyone able to read Ignex Western Blot tests or know of a LLMD in California? I cannot get the ordering physician to interpret mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm no expert by any means, but with the double positive on band 41 combined with the IND (Indeterminate) on bands 34 and 39 (which are highly specific to Lyme Disease), I would say you need to find a LLMD to be evaluated at a minimum! Although the two bands that are highly specific to Lyme are only "indeterminate", something still showed up on those bands, meaning that something was found.


One a person understands how well the Lyme bacteria control our immune systems (suppressing them) and their ability to quite literally out-smart our immune systems (by changing their outer surface proteins and such) then it's easy to understand why these tests have such a high rate of false negatives.

If you haven't already gone through our "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread, I would highly encourage you to do so!! It's not only packed full of really important info - like a great article written by Dr. Joseph Burrascano titled "Advanced Topics in Lyme Disease", a very worth while article to read - but symptom lists as well so that you can check to see which symptoms you have and which infections you may have. We also have a great list of questions to ask a LLMD during your interview of them at the end of that thread.

What kind of treatment are you hoping to follow? Mainly Abx, or mainly natural?

Yes, many Lyme patients would like a less ambiguous test result! Some people start treatment and then retest -- although that can be a little expensive.

I do hope you can get some treatment soon. Your reaction to treatment will be a better proof than the test results, anyway.

Igenex requires doctor signature. It may be difficult to get a doctor to sign. Possibly, it may even be difficult to get the results after they come in. that was my experience anyway.
