veterinary real time PCR- Can you use it?

i've noticed veterinary labs offer some of the same PCR tests for vastly cheaper. I know they are not certified for humans etc etc, but is there any reason it wouldn't work? Any cross reactivity problems? Has anyone tried this? I don't trust any of the human tests and I'm only wanting the test as a guide....

Don’t you have to go to a Vet clinic to get tested?

And will they test a hooman?

The one i saw was connected to a University, and it just said to send in the sample and you no longer needed to be a veterinarian to request it. I called today to check but no-one answered. I figured someone on here has probably already been down that route. I am sure they will not test it if you say it's human blood, but if I label it "pig" would it still work??
