Well if your eating a lot of meat it would be possible for some of it not to be cooked thoroughly enough. I ate a lot of meat rare where the inside may not have been cooked long enough to kill all bacteria. All it would take is a few spirochete to survive.
Did you ever hear of the increased risk of colon cancer from eating red meat?
