I posted here a week or two ago about
my loss of taste. I still don't have my sense of taste back but I'm pretty sure I know what caused it, and it wasn't a sinus infection. For one thing, I still have a very acute sense of smell.
I started taking Andrographis three weeks before I lost my taste. My sister (who may have Lyme but at least probably some other chronic infections, judging by her symptoms) started taking Andrographis a few weeks after I did. Earlier this week she lost her sense of taste and has the exact symptoms, salty taste, can't taste sugar, horrid sour taste in back of mouth. We counted back and she lost her sense of taste three weeks after taking Andrographis, just like I did. Neither of us has ever lost our taste like this. It's not just a dulling of taste, it's an extreme loss of taste. It seems obvious to me that the Andrographis must be what caused it. My sister and I live 2000 miles apart, so it's not like we could have caught the same virus or anything like that.
I just wondered if anyone here had this happen, and even if not, I wanted to post so if this happens to anyone, they might find this post. I did find some links where people were asking Stephen Buhner about
loss of taste. He said it was either the Andrographis or the Japanese Knotweed.
buhnerhealinglyme.com/herbs/loss-of-taste/ I've been taking Japanese knotweed for about
six months with no strange symptoms. It must be the Andrographis.
