Bartonella Rash

Hi All,

I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Bart and at that time I had a red, bumpy rash all over my chest that my doctor said was from the Bartonella. It isn't streaked, just red and bumpy. But now it's spreading onto my face, which is very disconcerting. Especially since I've been on Doxycycline for almost 2 weeks. Is this normal? Is there anything I should do to help this rash that any of you know of? Thanks for any input...

I've had several different rashes appear over the past few years since treating the infections.


They are all different: One was a blotchy rash on my back. Another one was little spots on the top of my right foot - but under the skin.
Another one was on my upper abdomen....

It's hard to know if it's always from the infection or if it's a reaction to the antibiotics.

Have you tried putting organic coconut oil on the rash on chest first and see if it helps.

Is your Md an Lyme literate Md and are they going to give you a different abx for Bart. l believe there are other abx's they use to treat bart.

Goshawk, yes I believe my doctor is an LLMD, as his office is recommended on the lymedisease.org website. I have only seen the nurse practitioner so far though, and she thinks my WB will come back showing Lyme, so she said this abx would treat both. I'm very new to this, and I actually feel worse after these two weeks on the doxy, so when I go this Tuesday for my WB results I'm going to talk to her about it. Also yes, I actually use coconut oil twice a day as a moisturizer anyway. It helps everything, but not this sadly.
