Can anyone tell me why when i was on buproprion last year 150 mgs all my depression anxiety went away i was also on a couple antibiotics ...thougjt i was getting better stopped buproprion and boom severe agitation panic depression...i just started zinthromax and have had sevete severe depression and anxiety ....i am starting to wonder if this is just major depression w anxiety all my pain went away w buproprion to...but my new llmd said I have babesia and bart but everything i take makes my depression and anxiety so severe i eant to die mainly mental symptoms is this normal i do not want to eat and do not want to leave the house from anxiety and depression...
I do not understand anymore the anxiety never goes away i have talked to other lyme bart babesia patients but they do not feel like me...hopeless

I do not have brain fog , just severe depression anxiety fear panic and fatigue

I don't have an answer, but I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad. Hang in there! These bugs are evil. Are you taking anything for the anxiety and depression to tide you over as you treat?

Have you talk to your LLMD?

Hard to get meds for fatigue but there are many out there for anxiety and panic.

I’m treating for bart and mine has me on hydroxyzine.

I had chronic anxiety 15 years ago for 3-4 years. I wonder now if that was Lyme or Bart.

Don’t put yourself thought this without meds!!!!

You’ll know right away if this works. It’s a Antihistmine but also used to treat anxiety.

I don't have answers for all your questions, but I do know fron experience and from reading others'posts that bart and babs both can cause pretty severe psych symptoms and herxes.

If the abx are causing too much herxing, can you reduce the dosage or take a break (talk to your LLMD)? You could switch to herbs at low doses that are more tolerable and see how you do.

There are also herbs that will help with symptom relief. Kudzu root and taking very tiny doses of the killer herbs helped my head and psych symptoms.

I already take ativan 2 1/2 mgs a day still does not help i also take buproprion 100 mgs which i may have to increases just started 2.5 mgs of lexapro low dose because i am sensative i just started the zinthromax 4 days ago and just stare at the walls all day shocked this is my life

So if you have not already read up on Mass call activation syndrome.

The med I mentioned does not only have a overall calming effect but the antihistamine mass cell which is like a autoimmune disorder.

I found treating mass celll helped significantly in my symptoms from treatment which I always thought was a herx.

I’ve spent most of the year in this position. I take 150 mg of wellbutrin. Raising the dose gives me anxiety. Ativan doesnt help. I managed to get through the worst with 5 htp, b vitamins, StressArrest and NAC. Had to add hemp oil, and still went crazy. I refuse pharmaceutical drugs for depression and anxiety. I was told Lamictal should help. I just don’t trust pharma anymore.

Herxing hard from Babs and Bart. The only thing that’s helped me lately is time (everything passes), prayer, acupuncture, and lowering my abx and pulsing.

I also have a mast cell activation disorder and went on a low histamine diet, take Quercetin, Nettles, bromelain, and vitamin C. Certain foods trigger my panic. Keep a food diary and maybe you can find some triggers (my worst are diary, corn, and nuts)

I had the “I give up” cry last week. But I did not, and I will not.

I think all that got jumbled and hard to follow. Point: I take a ton of stuff for Babs and Bart psychological problems but only time and pushing on helps.

you need to back down your dose and/or pulse it to a more tolerable level because the bug die off is what's causing a spike in your symptoms.

i know someone going through the same thing and she's on klonopin, abilify and trazidone.

Just curious if any of you with the hard psych herxes have ever tried Jernigan's Neuro Anti-tox. I haven't tried it yet, but I know some others on the forum have been greatly helped by it. It's supposed to detox ammonia, which is reportedly elevated with Lyme. Not sure if it has the same effect on coinfections. Would like to know if it does.

Yes I had a script meclzine. Benadryl is the OTC equal. Not the less drowsy version ,, needs to be the good ole drowsy kind. Take 25mg at a pop.

If that helps it could be a indication that the more targeted Mass cell antihistamines will help.

This I had too and I had it for awhile are you taking diflucan.? It was the root of most of my panic and tremors. I figured it out and two things helped me, one was tell yourself your going to get better five times a day I know it is crazy but do it. It really works you have to believe it to. Second was kefir and garlic , garlic stops anxiety who knew it is amazing stuff, I am now feeling a lot better from wanting to die and hopelessness to about 65 percent. Just doing doxy and garlic and it is working will add lauricidian this week slowly. In two weeks time the kefir and garlic has made me think I will get better. Fingers crossed also talk to yourself tell you you can feel better and you will feel better maybe this is all that worked and the rest did not. Who knows but it is working for me and I think positive thinking can be the same for all the brain is identical you know. Love you and you can and will beat this I will too. Let’s heal together.

Scooterbug, I too have faced anxiety, panic, depression. many sleepless nights that only added to it. if your not sleeping well, that will certainly add to the anxiety and depression. i would try benedryl to try to get some quality sleep.

i would also work with your doctor to prescribe something that will work for you. your LLMD or PCP should be able to help, but it may require trial and error to find the right drug for you. i have been there, and its terrible. i noticed that my anxiety/depression is greatly reduced when i get consistent quality (deep) sleep.

Hi Scooterbuglyme,

I was once in the same place you were and it's such a horrible feeling. Are you detoxing at all?

WalkingbyFaith mentioned Neuro-Antitox Formula (CNS/PNS). It does bind up ammonia from all lyme bacteria (including co-infections) when they die off. Ammonia is a neuro-toxin and if one doesn't clear it out of their brain and body it plays games with your mind not to mention that ammonia causes brain fog, lyme rage (in my case), joint pains, etc. From what I know it can also do damage to one's organs if not addressed.

I have so many supplements here it is over whelming i do have pinella burber but they did not help at all ,I did the sauna last night for 10 minutes and going to do that again tonight and and epson salt foot soak todsy during the day and dry skin brushing...

Glad to hear you are detoxing! Since the pinella burbur didn't help why not give the Neuro-Antitox CNS/PNS formula a chance? So many had fantastic results with the formula. You can try it for 4 weeks and see if it makes you feel better.

And yes I know about having many supplements when I was experimenting, thank goodness they went all in the garbage. All I have now is Green Vibrance, Vitamin C, and some other supplements that I give to my Mom.
