I also have blue eyes, am hyper-hypersensitive, have multiple infections making me super sick (currently bed bound) and am having a horrible time even starting anything for treatment. I also am 99% European and have the MTHFR (which causes methylation problems), COMT (increased sensitivity to pain) and CBS (impedes detoxification) gene mutations. I apologize if this was mentioned in this thread already. I'm so tired that I'm having problems reading and lines are jumping around on me but I did want to share this info in case it was interesting and/or helpful. I have done both the 23andMe and Genes for Good genetic tests so if you are curious about
other gene mutations I may have, feel free to ask! BTW, Genes for Good is doing FREE genetic testing in exchange for answering some extremely simple health study questions (takes about
10 mins over 3 days to qualify for the 'spit kit') . The results can take awhile as the news has gotten out and they have so many people now wanting to participate that the normal 3 month turn around is closer to 5 or 6 months now, but it's completely free and gives you more raw data than 23andMe does with A LOT of good genetic information. There are many sites now that you can go to and plug your genetic info into that help you make sense of it all too.
I should actually make a separate post about
GfG in case others are curious about
their genetic makeup and how it could be affecting their own recoveries. If you want to check them out, just type in Genes for Good on FB and it should pull them up. It's a little daunting allowing your genes to be used for research, but the more people that do, the more they will be able to learn about
how everyone's genetic makeup influences disease and human traits and I think it's a project that could lead to some huge breakthroughs so I completely support it. I imagine that it's not going to be a whole lot longer before you'll be able to have a genetic test and get a highly detailed completely personalized list of recommendations for the types of supplements most beneficial to you, medications that work best with your genetic make up as well as those to avoid, conditions to watch out for and how to prevent them and even the types of food and exercise that work the best for you. Some of this is even already available!
