Who has this strain and what helped knock it out? How long did you treat it?
I pulsed mepron, Zithromax, and super arteminisin for 2 1/2 months. Also did Septra DS for 8 weeks, pulsed.

Mepron - only 2 1/2 months?


If so, it needs to be longer than that.

I'd like to throw in a good herb for babs to at least cover it a little. What about cumanda? From Cowden..

According to Buhner, it's one of the most effective herbs for babesia and also is effective against bartonella.

Cryptolepis is a good herb for Babesia, as well.

LLMD MR has it listed as an effective herb. He also likes to use it for relapse

I don’t have the Babesia book but it’s most likely 1/4 tsp 3x day

Start off low dose though and increase slowly.

My ND suspects I have this strain too, especially living in the Pacific NW but says she doesn't have a test for it specifically. Did you have a positive test for it and if so, what test was able to detect it? I would really like to have a test specifically run for it because I'm not going through anything if something else needs to be treated first and I really want to know what all I actually do have so the best treatment can be tailored to it. Thank you!!!

Rare Squirrel do the FISH test via Igenex because that detects the RNA of the organism so if you're positive you're definitely positive.

Some LLMD's don't even bother testing and just assume you have it and just treat for it. Reason being ticks today are so much diriter than in the past and by dirty I mean they have way more pathogens than historically.

FYI the Duncani strain (which was originally called WA-1, WA being Washington) is believed to of originated from the Pacific Northwest but make no mistake its all over the east coast and who knows where else.
