Teratoma Cysts/Tumors and Lyme

I'm sure Lyme has something to do with it, but I found out I have a teratoma tumor/cyst on my left ovary today. It's about 1 inch in diameter. I automatically freaked out for two reasons. 1) What if Lyme is hiding in this thing?! Probably really possible. 2) I'm wondering if it's possible for this to trigger an autoimmune disease. Depending on what kind of cells are in the tumor/cyst, what if my body gets confused and attacks my healthy cells while it tries to attack the tumor cells? Because it's obviously prone to doing that.

I'm trying to tell myself that it's probably nothing. And that my chances of anything bad happening like cancer, ovarian torsion, or rupture are slim to none. But I know how ridiculous my body is because of Lyme, and I can't calm my brain down today.

Do you have any insight? Give it to me!

I had 5 cm hemorrhagic cyst rupture on me about a year and a half ago. Now I'm wondering if that was related. Long story but it ruptured before I could get in for surgery. You can ask for a CA-125 test that might help ease your mind. Mine came back super low at 8 so I wasn't as worried about cancer, but the problem with the test is that even if it does come back high, it's usually due to other factors. It's supposedly a lot more accurate after menopause. Don't know if that helps but hang in there because I know what the fear is like! If they have identified it as a teratoma though, I think that makes the risk of cancer pretty small, and it being on the LEFT side, for some reason is better than the right for avoiding torsion. At least this is what I was told. Something about the anatomy supports the left side more than the right. Cancerous teratomas are more common in women younger than their early 20's and benign teratomas are more common after that. Hope that helps ease your fears somewhat! Hang in there!
