Girlie,
I read some of your other posts and it seems like Jemsek's office is being super annoying, which is disappointing since I was thinking about going to see him/them but i keep hearing very mixed things. And while I understand the importance of treating possible babesia...why can't they treat babs and bart at the same time?? 8 months is a long time to just be treating babs only.
I'm doing okay....not really lol. I left Dr. S in NJ and started seeing Dr. Z in NJ in Oct. I did 5 IV peroxides which was supposed to get rid of Lyme and Babs, but the Bart was barely being affected. So she switched me to IV Silvers. I did 3 and my BAH test showed I was bart free, then it showed that i still had low levels of it a month later so I had to do 2 IV silvers this past 2 weeks and the last one she upped my dosage without telling me until after when i was paying. IDK if its herx or if that dose just rewakened my Bart but I've been having twitching going crazy for hours not allowing me to sleep, then muscle pains, then swelling in my muscles (which is a symptom I've never had before), etc. And cherry on top is my doc is out for the week on vacation. Absolutely ridiculous.
I don't want to do another IV silver. I dont even have money to much else. Herbs dont work on me. I was thinking about going between Dr. M or Jemsek's clinic in Maryland but IDK anymore. Both expensive and seem to want you to do whatever without question and neither seems to care about your input (based off people's reviews).
Have you thought about Dr. Jaller in Marryland?
When I go to my next appt , it will be 6 months of Babesia treatment with the J clinic.
Re: Bart treatment at same time. I could take Cipro with Mepron and treat bart but I said “no” because of the risks.
Rifampin or Rifabutin isnt usually prescribed with Mepron as one reduces effectiveness of the other.
I am on Bactrim which does have some activity against Bart but probably not enough - not like Rifampin/Rifabutin .
Was it a LLMD who gave you iv peroxide for lyme and Babs? I would be skeptical of that.
Dr J isn’t very expensive. After the first two appts - the cost is reasonable and appts are 3-4 months apart.
The initial consult was quite high but that may be the norm for llmd’s.
They do listen to you when you report your symptoms and are willing to tweak the protocol - but they do have their structured protocols that they use - based on your reporting of how you are doing - what seems to be working etc.
But they wouldn’t skip Babesia treatment based on me telling them I had done several months prior to seeing them.
Why did you leave Dr S in NJ?
I’m not interested in switching llmd’s.
I only have to travel to the J clinic twice a year - not sure if other llmd’s would accommodate that.
