Hey RWB,
I am a very skeptical, science minded person. So, by nature I question everything too. I still wonder why some are bed-bound or disabled, and some are still able to work. The science does not seem well explored.
My hypothesis is that some strains of Borrelia are more virulent then others (I believe the science already supports this). Common sense tells me simultaneous infection with other pathogens would be ubiquitous. Each person also has their own genetic inclinations, immune systems, and history with other infections that may play a role.
I think skepticism, self reflection, and asking questions is good; and probably the best thing to help our collective cause.
It's okay to carry some of that skepticism along with you while you figure out your path. I know I do.
Yep! Its good to question everything, as the body is obviously very complex.
The bedbound vs functioning with lyme curiosity: Lyme is an immune response to a foreign bacteria.
Immune and autoimmune can cause endless issues can differs with people because of genes. "Bad genes" that were switched "on" by illness.
Also has something to do with personal "drive", and just how much one can take or the ability to switch of emotion and go into "survival" mode. This something some professional endurance athletes are trained in and excel at, not everyone can just do it. In the long run, that might NOT be good though (i know from experience ha ha).....we are not robots.
