So after 2 and a half years of antibiotics, supplements and some herbs and being able to get to remission last August, all of my symptoms are coming back with a vengeance. The LLMD that was treating me is, of course, cash only and there is no way I can afford to go back there, already thousands in debt due to this. Many of the other "LLMD's" in this area are only interested in the money they make and not about getting people well. I have a whole long list of those and refuse to even see any of them. When I start looking at all of the herbal protocols my brain just shuts down because I cannot process all of the different information. I guess my question is, should I just throw a dart at the pile of books with protocols to pick one, or is there something that has helped many of you? I have been dealing with this for 20 years and only confirmed 3 years ago, and I know that no one protocol helps everyone. I just don't know what to even try next. At this point I'm not even sure that it is worth it anymore. Feeling helpless and hopelessly lost.

Hi there is still hope to get better. I would just narrow it down to two protocols and then decide which one is easier for you.
jerrnigans borregellon,lymeoggen is an easier option and some here have had success.
I use Buhner protocols and am having success.which you could just start out with a few important tinctures and build from there. I'm away from home right now but will check back later.
others should be along soon to offer help.

Buhner protocol can be tough if you are have a difficult time processing information. I'm on Buhner's and I'm seeing moderate success.

I have never tried it so I can't vouch for it but I do know Rawl's protocol comes in four tablets making it easy to follow. I believe his protocol is based upon Buhner.

Again, I've never tried Dr. Rawls' protocol but I do have his book and love his general philosophy for Lyme.

So at first I had to wait to see an LLMD. As you know sometimes waiting months is not an option - so I tried to self treat with Buhner. It definitely helped, but finally my husband pleaded with me to find an herbalist. When I went in to see her she told me to bring in what I had...I kid you not it was an entire Rubbermaid container (the big one) FULL of herbs. Her eyes were HUGE. I basically spent $700 on herbs when I only needed $200, I was doing a little of this.. a little of that - I was just desperate to get my life back. I did get commendation on the brands I picked at least!

Worth a suggestion, at the time I went to student clinic. I don't know where you are located but as finances are usually an issue since lyme is so expensive to treat it is good if there is an herbal clinic that does low cost consults. In addition to the protocols listed here there is also Cowdens that I recall.

The do sliding fee consults. Even if they do not have a lyme specialist you can pick one of your books and they can guide you from their knowledge to add/customize it and also to have a support system.

opugirl, just spoke with a not so nice woman from this place and this is not a viable option. She absolutely refused to schedule me after I told her what I needed...... Thanks for all of your help. Have to go back to bed now, I give up.

Don’t give up!! I just found that online. And I can find others too. There are some reputable herbalists that will do phone or video consults. Take a rest, and then get back to me so we can get a plan going for you. You can’t think I’m going to give up on you that easy. smile

Does anyone know how much the Buhner recommended herbalists charge? I guess it would be all individual.


I know some (maybe all?) do phone consults...so no travel costs at least.

My old herbalist, specializes in lyme but is more expensive (not lyme expensive but still...) fees are on her site which is nice to know upfront.
