Nauseous!!

No need to apologize, trust me - been there!

It appears based on most of your posts that you are new to treatment so YES it absolutely could be a herx. We've had many members on here that have had issues with nausea, vomiting you name it. I had a hard time eating anything for awhile.

The number one go to seems to be ginger tea. Patchouli essential oil aromatic can be helpful too.

How is your diet?? Diet can play a very important role in your treatment so keep that in mind and you are welcome to ask for suggestions here. I think part of the reason I healed fast(er) was because I was so sick, I don't care for food in general so cleaning up my diet which was already decent was not hard.

Herxing is not fun but unfortunately for many it is par with the course. Listen to your body and be patient. There are a lot of good detoxing recommendations on the "New to Lyme, Start here" thread. I would definitely recommend incorporating a few of those if you haven't.

Ok well that gives me a bit more on recommendations. Depending on how long you are on treatment for...and based on your drs recommendation as well. I always took my antibiotics with a meal/snack-which was recommended for me by my doctor. I don't have a particularly sensitive stomach but with lyme - that was a different story.

With lyme you may be on abx for awhile so you absolutely want to take care of your stomach and gut since it is so vital to good health. A good diet, lots of water, taking abx with food (depending on advice from doctor), and probiotics are also good (to be taken away from abx).

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you! Much more red and white then blue perhaps? Well really hoping for some unicorns and rainbows, that seems like a more optimistic color scale ;)

Thank you very much I appreciate it. & I'll ask my doctor about taking rifampin with food.

Unfortunately Rifampin is one that should be taken on an empty stomach.

What I do is split the difference...

I will take the Rifampin and then 1/2 hour later eat. I know that an hour + is recommended...but with long-term antibiotics that can be really harsh on the stomach. my two other antibiotics I do take with my food.


But, as Opugirl mentioned - discuss this with your Dr.
