10 THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY

My list of 10 things that make me happy in no particular order.

1. Baby goats, no idea why but they just make my heart smile.
2. My son Liam-early in the AM he crawls up next to us and just smiles. Best. Thing. Ever.
3. Auctions, Love me some good auctions!
4. My garden-my favorite is my echinacea, still waiting for some blooms
5. Snowboarding, been forEVER since I did this.
6. Butch Walker - he is the man-my favorite musician (Let it Go Where its supposed to)
7. Making paper cranes - my signature, oddly its the only origami I fold. My version of knitting
8. A clean kitchen...who am I kidding this will probably never happen.
9. Sleeping in - a super rarity with my kid but man when it happens GLORIOUS
10. Shenandoah - My heart will always be in Virginia. I dream of moving there sometimes.

01. Listening to songs from "The Great American Songbook," as sung by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, etc.

02. Watching films from the 1940s through the mid-1960s. Favorites include Singin' in the Rain, The Sound of Music, Dr. Strangelove, On the Town, Anchors Aweigh, From Here to Eternity, etc.

03. A freshly-cleaned house: clean kitchen, bathrooms, floors, windows, vacuumed carpet, etc.

04. New, freshly-laundered sheets that are tight, crisp, and cool.

05. A rainy, overcast Sunday afternoon where I can lay on the couch and alternate between watching an old movie and napping, without feeling guilty for not being outside in the nice weather.

06. A bowl of Corn Flakes (Whole Foods Market's 365 brand) with flax milk. Okay, two bowls.

07. Taking a really hot shower with multiple shower heads, high water pressure, and endless hot water. I have no idea where this magical place is, but I know it would make me happy.

08. A fresh haircut and cleanly-shaven face.

09. Going to the mailbox and not finding another bill for medical expenses.

10. Key lime pie.

1. My family- They're wonderful and have been supportive, even though they live nowhere near me.

2. My girlfriend of 1.5 years- She's always so much fun to be with, and she's been understanding of my current limitations when it comes to being physically active. We're hanging in there together for a better future.

3. My highschool friends- We play video games together almost nightly, going on 8 years now.

4. My tabletop gaming friends- Tabletop board games and RPGs are a fantastic, low energy way to have fun. Seriously, I strongly recommend them.

5. Exercise- I don't run as far as I used to, but my daily 10 minute jog always feels good to accomplish. I'm looking forward to longer runs down the line, but I'll take it easy as long as I need to.

6. Hot Shower- These always make me feel better, and always have.

7. My job- This may seem odd, but my job lets me work from home more than half the time. That's been invaluable when it comes to dealing with everything life throws at me, and I'm really appreciative of how understanding and supportive all of my bosses have been.

8. Books- I travel a lot for work, and a good audiobook makes the ordeal go by a lot faster. I love my books.

9. The Internet- There's a lot of crazy stuff out there, but the Internet is amazing and has brought tons of people (like us) together.

10. Science fiction- Movies, books, videogames, all of it. I love the genre and it always inspires me to look ahead to the future.
