Hi Mason,
Wow - 22. Could you tell me a little bit about
how you are feeling. You have been sick for 6 years, that is a long time.
Welcome to our forum. Tell us a little bit about
your story if you would like. You aren't alone. It is okay to be scared.
1-You can always change treatments, we pretty much all have to change treatments at some point.
2-You are 22!!! Youth is on your side kid, it is a generalization but in general younger folks seem to recover a little bit easier then older folks.
3-You aren't alone. I met a lot of wonderful people on this forum, some in person-something good CAN come out of this experience for you-maybe a new hobby a passion that you didn't have before.
Personally Mason, healing from this disease took up my whole LIFE. I did everything...I changed my diet, I was on forums (hello!), I read, I went to different doctors. But it also gave me a whole new outlook...talk about
a 180 - I went from making genetically modified crops to studying herbalism and making medicine. Also, I have the most beautiful son that I am staring at right now. I decided I wasn't going to have kids after lyme because I was terrified they would have it. The universe laughed at me and I'm so glad it did.
Hang in there kid, you have a whole lot of life left I'm sure. Try to find a few things everyday that make you happy. I had depression for awhile with lyme, many of us do. Its hard. Sometimes I don't know how I kept going-I just did.
And my general statement below....
Welcome to our site! Be sure to check out the "New To Lyme?.......Start here!" thread at the top of the Lyme forum. That is a great place to start and has information on detoxing, testing, diet, additional helpful links etc.
There are a lot of opinions on what is best but what is best for one is not best for all. We encourage all members to work with their medical physicians and make informed decisions. A lot of us end up suggesting new things we want to try with our physicians!
The networking and information on our forum is invaluable and I 100% attribute all of the wonderful information I got on here along with the wonderful members to my recovery.
Hello and Welcome!
